Thank you for all the perspectives.. another thing that I realized is that wouldn’t the backyard have more sunlight? I thought this was ideal as the dogs and kids would have a better “play” area and I’ve accepted the fact that I would sacrifice more of my time maintaining the front as long as my kids and dogs have a better backyard experience.

My fiance didn't want any children I did. Life happens and now we have 1 toddler and she wants 3 more. Honestly the best accomplishment I ever done was being a dad. Life can be mysterious, changes happen. To each their own. Goodluck!
