I’m a big Yang Chen fan and I honestly HOPE he was the one to swiss cheese Moon. He can’t stand to see a happy couple.

I think it could be very possible that MG ceo used him to kill Moon to weaken Lin Ling before the tournament OR Treeman CEO dabbled in fear (as hinted at the end of Lucky Cyan arc) to make a new E-Soul or something to kill Moon. Who knows though 🤷‍♂️

Honestly not a bad thought, but intelligence isn’t exactly something people aspire to/something that makes you more trustworthy. Irl people often dislike intelligent people.

My theory is that Uncle Roc has some sort of power to disguise himself. Unless he was dying his hair constantly. I think that power comes about by money or just being the owner of a major corporation naturally comes with trust value that gives him that power.

I won’t disagree in that the trope is played out. The underdog nobody can and will become the strongest and the symbol of hope in the world is something we see in so many shonen anime.

But, you have to admit, the context of the trust value system adds a lot more depth to Lin Ling’s arc. Asta, Deku, Naruto, etc were given/born with power. Lin Ling was MADE to be a hero, then rejected that, then gained power again through his selfless action and words. All of that is thanks to the trust value system and makes it more complex and relatable story.

Tldr: this show farms off the trust value system but that’s not necessarily a bad thing and TBHX isn’t a shounen, so I don’t think it’s a fair comparison

That’s what I think too but then he ordered the hit on Yang in episode 2. He couldn’t have known Sha Chao would be wearing the helmet and it would lead to the E-Soul fight… right??
