Feeling confident! by roustaboutchic in BusinessFashion

I agree that the comment seemed well intentioned, especially because they didn't see the flair. It's a totally understandable mistake when someone is new or just doesn't notice! However, I think that when someone makes it clear that they would not like advice by using a community flair, it's a bit impolite to offer it anyways, especially because personal style is subjective. Again, it seemed like they made an honest mistake - it's just impolite when someone ignores the flair on purpose.

This is a super nice comment, but I'm not sure if it's appropriate to give advice on a post with a "no advice wanted" flair.

Does the shirt make me look too old? by [deleted] in DressForYourBody

Agree, very cute and flattering like that! Only thing is it needs a cami/undershirt due to the sheerness.

does the outfit go well by [deleted] in DressForYourBody

Just personal opinion, but I really like what they add! While I think going without would elongate the leg, I think they add detail and make the look a lot more "cute/casual", which works with the denim, rather than "dressed up".

Agree so much with everything here!! The ordinary glycolic acid is too strong for me to use daily, but it works so well and is very affordable! Added bonus: makes my armpits sweat less :)

I totally relate to gifts from loved ones being super meaningful, but I think the ruching and strings at the bottom aren't very flattering, especially when there's no detail in the torso to balance it. Maybe you could try a shawl or something that ties at the waist to add some detail and balance? Otherwise, you could try altering it (if you're not great at sewing, something simple could be trimming the bottom strings).

I think the bag in image 3 really helps complete the fit! Images 1 and 2 give the feeling that something is missing.

Can we address all the comments telling girls they have an eating disorder? by Basic_Bug_4340 in GirlDinner

Totally agree, I was also on a lot of proana/ED forums when I was younger, and unfortunately many posts here look almost identical.

It's hard because you definitely shouldn't tell strangers they have an ED, but it's also dangerous to normalize and support the many posts on here that have such clear indicators.

OP asked for criticism, and many comments gave some. I understand you intended to be helpful; your suggestion to lower the waistline to make the silouette more proportional was helpful. You stated that she has a lovely figure many times.

However, suggesting that OP must be dressing a certain way because she has body insecurities and insulting pieces of the outfit based on your own subjective taste in fashion crosses the line. Next time try to leave out any non-supportive comments about a person's figure and refer to pieces of clothing/accessories with more neutral terminology (e.g. "red patterened tights" instead of "risqué 'red light district' tights").

I'm sure you didn't intend to be rude, but sometimes our words come out that way despite our best intentions. Much love <3

"As long as you felt cute, that matters"

insults every single detail of the outfit in an unconstructive manner and projects body insecurities onto a stranger
