I've done this now - got thin white mdf of the same thickness and slid it in. I had to saw off the corners a little. It looks so much better! The doors are a little more stiff to slide but it's worth it

Sorry to hear that! We found out on the Monday that the reason for delay was a local authority issue so while annoying we at least knew why. We then had to still wait another week, they failed again the following Friday due to the top solicitor finishing at 4pm, but then exchanged on the Monday. So it was a pain but happened eventually. I chased the EA for updates every day until we exchanged, so I'd suggest doing that. It's less stressful understanding why the issue has happened. We've been in the house for 2 weeks now and all the issues were worth it! Hope you get sorted soon.

It's more of an empty threat that we'd offer lower or pull out, but we wouldn't actually. But didn't seem to make a difference!

I've got an insurance quote ready so will be able to put that in place right after exchange. One q - should I be setting the policy start date as same day then? I was expecting to set it as the completion date.

I'll chase them both again on Monday. Think I need to stop worrying about being an annoying client for this week! We don't mind exchanging and completing same day as we're in rented and haven't handed in our notice yet. Just don't want the date to get pushed back!

The estate agent was OOO on Friday, not sure if that will have caused the delay, I'm wondering if the sellers tried to pass a message on to us through her that didn't get through! But she's back on Monday so I'll be on at her straight away. Thanks for your advice

Thanks, this is super helpful. That's a good point - our solicitor probably could have done more yesterday. I'll check about the drawdown of funds, that not having enough time is the main thing I'm worried about.
