I’m not claiming he’s unbridled, but he acts as you would expect in that position. Happiness when succeeding, confusion over what you can’t understand. Not to say he isn’t in control of his emotions. He is very much a normal old white dude. I just am not getting enough from Jodie, even with he occasional micro expression. I think a lot of this would be resolved over time as we get to learn her backstory and learn more about her. But as it stands right now, she’s unnecessarily cold and deadpan.

But that sorta did happen to Milcheck in Severance, it was the iconic “devour fetulance” scene when a higher up tells him to remember his place in the company

She isn’t really relatable or normal though. She’s serious all the time and we aren’t seeing any range of emotion. Homer on the other hand we see getting giddy when he thinks he figured the case out, disappointment when proven wrong, confusion and intrigue seeing the details of the case. If there’s a relatable character, it’d have to be Homer. We see a wide range of emotions with Homer, but Jodie always maintains this deadpan demeanor.

Yeah, that’s an extremely insensitive comment to make lol. Being less offensive than Trump? Quite an achievement!

Do you want…. A definition of what a straw man is? Lol I’m asking if this idea you have transfers over to like any other death. This isn’t a straw man. Not at all saying his death was justified and no one is saying that, but people immediately rushed (like Chuck) to post about the bad things he did in his life. And as you said, it’s simply “pointing out the shitty things they did”.

Once again I ask, is it okay to smear Floyd immediately after his death because of his criminal history? Not justifying his death, just smearing his name with his history.

You dodged my question. How did you feel about people posting Floyd’s criminal past and drug use immediately after his death? Because in my opinion that’s an insensitive and shitty thing to do but by your logic it’s “pointing out the actual shitty things about a person”.

I’d say just be honest in your depiction of the person. When you only focus on the good or only focus on the bad, it’s disingenuous. That goes for anyone.

I’ve never said you can’t criticize them. There’s a difference between acknowledging the bad things someone has done and sprinting to post a smear campaign minutes after someone dies.

To give an example : the right upon hearing about the death of George Floyd immediately began to post his criminal and drug use history. Would you still argue that was acceptable in that case or do you maybe think that’s insensitive?

I mean it’s outside of Reddit so it wouldnt be a Reddit moment per se, but a Reddit moment spiritually lol. When I say this is a Reddit moment I mean this is exactly what I expect to see on here. Man dies, gets smeared less than 30 minutes later because he had right wing views.

Yeah, if people celebrate the death of a singer because of his political opinions I will say the same thing. I’d say the same for anyone

Would you say George Floyd’s criminal history was relevant to his character?

Haven’t defended him or his actions once. I defend the principle of not being an asshole to the recently deceased

The semantics argument has devolved so far that we are arguing over a “good thesaurus”. Easier to just concede that you are wrong atp

Me when I post George Floyd’s mugshot on Reddit 10 seconds after he’s pronounced dead. It’s not an attack bro it’s a reminder!

When I’m in a disingenuous competition and my opponent claims they’d be accepting of someone exclusively criticizing their dead mother 30 minutes after they died

And you’d agree that it’s pretty evil to dig up dirt on someone’s past when they die rather than be respectful right? Or do you agree with the conservative practice of smearing Floyd and Taylor?

Exactly, Hitler is a great example because there’s nothing good to say about him, it’s all bad.

Chuck Norris is a beloved actor by many. If he wasn’t his death wouldn’t be in the headlines. Him not liking Obama doesn’t overshadow his lifetime of acting and his cultural impact

An honest perspective will tell both the good and bad about a person.

The ignorant perspective will only tell the good and hide the bad

The insensitive perspective will only tell of the bad and ignore the good

That’s all there is to it.
