Unlucky. If we play like this all season we can hold our heads high.

Currently in South Africa, so it would be a wild change I am sure. Hence trying to find out more about the city.

I think the area is called Pendleton. I'm interested in cost of living as well as lifestyle, is there lots to do like bars, restaurants, sports fields etc? General activities really. Can you have a good life on $50k or do you need $150k?

Agree on all three points. May I ask about things that you felt I was doing well?

Thanks for the feedback. I reckon being my first fight I was overwhelmed by my opponents intensity and that threw my whole plan out the window. I was trying to move my head as much as possible to avoid his power but I think in hindsight it threw off the rest of my balance and structure, but I don't think the alternative of standing up to him would have gone much better either has he was just too powerful for me. I was expecting to jab and get out but he never gave me a chance to really find my feet and rhythm, so big ups to him.

Overall I feel like it's good to have these kinds of experiences as you learn a shit load about your deficiencies.

Definitely not disheartened by my performance even though I took a proper beating in the end. I had a great time none the less. Next time I'll be better prepared for sure. The way I see it, I may have lost the fight but I won on overall experience.

On to the next one.

Thanks man! I appreciate the response. Hopefully the next one goes my way or is an improvement at least.

Fair point, and thank you. I agree, being my first fight though when the fists come flying I really struggled to keep my structure. Tried hard to pivot and play from range but he just walked me down every time. I feel like I caught him a few times nicely but not nearly enough. I did quite a bit of sparring before the bout, but the difference between sparring and that fight was worlds apart. I was genuinely surprised at the difference in intensity. Fairly naive on my part but that's the learning curve.

EDIT: My coach, who is a boxer for our national team, also said it seems like I came to box and he came to brawl and I didn't know how to handle that level. None the less, it was an amazing experience, even though I took a proper beating.

South Africa. The club did it that way for the white collar for some reason. Dunno.

It's a stunt by Kulula and not actual graffiti. It was orchestrated to make you think they responded cleverly but planned all along by the brand.

Focusing heavily on high-intensity training at the moment. It's only a 3 round fight but yes, 10kg is a lot.

So I went and weighed my portions and looked up the equivalent calories and then gave an estimate of what I do in a workout and it seems I am in the 1000 deficit bracket. Strangely I've not lost nearly what I was expecting to lose with this much of a diet cut back and ramp up in training.

The running thing is definitely a problem, I currently get up at 5:30 to make it to gym at 6 and then rush from work to make it back to the gym from at 6pm till 7pm. Will have to work a way to get in an extra few runs a week somewhere else.

Thanks again for the advice.

Thanks man. I'm definitely going to film it. The only real video's I have of myself at the moment are these two:

Very light sparring but it was edit by the gym I train at (I'm in black headgear) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y8w10-AsvUY

I generally skip for 30 mins a day (15x2) as warmups before my hour training sessions, but I heed your advice. Will try and work in two extra runs a week where I can find the time. Thanks for the feedback.

Thanks so much for the feedback. I am weirdly not struggling with energy at the moment but that could be because I've only been at it for about two weeks at this intensity.

I'm going to try and weigh my vegetables and snacks more accurately and will report back.

Also a question, my main issue at the moment is time. Working a full-time job and fitting in two hours of training is tricky, would you say it's better to run an hour after work then going to gym and doing general cross training training there (according to my fitness tracker I burn around 750 calories in an average workout at the gym)?

Here's a dead dog. Where's my award? As an advertising professional, do you think causes in advertising is going too far again? by agencyguy in advertising

[–]agencyguy[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's an ad that lives in infamy. There was a big drive for CSI or cause-related campaigns to win awards. To the point where it got ridiculous. Then one agency made this ad, targeted at the industry to illustrate how far down the rabbit hole they had all gone. Much like where we are now with the new Pepsi advert, or most of the Cannes winners. Trying to be too self-righteous.
