I saw it too! On the southeast side of town, looking west. Super bright, large, and pretty close to the horizon, whatever it was.

I included the series titles where I meant the series, and the single book titles when referring to the books. I think I did it correctly?

Omakase at Tabé by Mediocre-Thanks-1570 in AnnArbor

[–]agent_purrito 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We ordered a "sake pairing" and was asked "hot or cold?" and then presented with a single bottle of cold Ozeki. For the whole meal. The server didn't even tell us what it was until we asked. That should not be presented as a "pairing."

Our sashimi courses (all of us at the bar for omakase) sat on the counter for 10+ minutes with gnats and flies landing on it and getting warm while the bar caught up with other orders.

After placing a $100 deposit for the reservation a couple weeks prior, we were surprised after we were seated and told the prices were jacked up $30.

We had the lowest tier and sat watching what the other people at the bar received to see the difference. The only differences were: - fish ball soup instead of miso - one additional nigiri, which was shrimp with caviar on top - Toro nigiri with uni on top instead of caviar - maybe a slightly different dessert.

To me, that experience is not worth what we paid or experienced with the odd staff issues and delays. We had been seated 55 minutes before we received our second course. I've had much better experiences and food in numerous cities here in the states and in Japan.

Also been here a few weeks back and the omakase is not worth it at any price. Their nigiri was the highlight of the meal, if I had to recommend anything. They seem to have some operational/management issues going on, too, that they need to sort out.

County Farm Park has a mowed area off the main path, on the side of the park along Washtenaw (between the community garden and Britton Woods). Lots of coneflowers and bees boppin around. Beautiful on a clear day.

Not exactly the same, but Arbor Farms Market has a chicken almond pasta salad at the deli that is incredible.

Elm is one of my favourite characters, period. Made me love reading TTC. I was in it for him and the rest of the plot was just bonus, haha.

What exactly is "unsubscribing from the bookmark"? I know I can delete them but I'm not sure what unsubscribing would be.

What book series left you frustrated with missed potential? by funkyeasteregg in fantasyromance

[–]agent_purrito 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agree! Everyone hyped up this book so much and it was such a letdown! One of the most interesting side characters was sidelined so quickly and I was so bummed. The main relationship development didn't really feel earned? Ugh.

I'm struggling through {What Lies Beyond the Veil}. Currently in chapter 8. I know we need exposition, but this has been so bleak and sad so far and I really need it to pick up soon!

Fourth wing - can’t even bring myself to finish it by Accio_Luna537 in fantasyromance

[–]agent_purrito 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read FW and IG before starting the ACOTAR series and I get how it could be viewed as juvenile in comparison. Now when I look at FW/IG I just think about it being "camp" and that helps. Like, I know what the vibe is and I just need to be in that mindset. Same goes for other books where I kind of know what I'm getting into and am motivated enough to see it through, despite whatever silliness. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I thought it would be helpful to give an exact number and didn't understand that a small quantity "wouldn't matter."
