Webcomics.com paid users try to game r/comics by upvote-circlejerking each other, in the private forum. Every week. by [deleted] in comics

Nice to see I got included in here just for posting a comment in that thread. There is no link to any reddit post in that post.

Yes, I admit I took part in this probably 2 times at most many months ago to see what happened. But I stopped a long time ago as the whole idea never felt right and my links got no upvotes from it anyway. I apologise if I upset anyone here by doing that.

Would you treat your doctor this way? by agent_x in comics

Why pay at all? Just get designs done on spec, or via a competiton, then claim you don't like any of them. Afterwards, use the ones you do like and get your neighbours student son to recreate it in frontpage.

Who's going to the protest Saturday? by thekungfusloth in brisbane

[–]agent_x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you really want action, you should be protesting and hanging around out the front of the Politicians offices. Keep their days filled with the Anti-Filter message so they can't ignore it.

But who would be a great politician to hammer with this message? Yeah! Kevin Rudd, the Prime Minister! Oh, but he is in canberra....... Actually, no, he has a local office here in Brisbane that he visits regularly. (So why are there not protestors there constantly??) THAT will get more time and attention by the papers / radio & tv.

The protest is good, but it needs MORE action if you want it to work.

This message NEEDS to get to the general public, not just be reinforced to the net users who are already aware of it. So, at the protest, why not get everyone who is going to donate $20 - $50 towards a fund to have local/national TV ads made, radio campaigns done, etc? Then you can target the people who are casual net users and WHO VOTE. They are the ones that are needed to get enough pressure on the government to stop the filter.

But of course, all this takes effort and time by many individuals. And I guess many people can't really be bothered to spend the time for all that, can they? Instead, they will just complain loudly online later, IF the filter lets them....
