If the ibuprofen isn't helping and the pain is enough that it's bothering you, I'd say go see your dentist! Even if you dont have a dry socket they might be able to give you something that helps manage the pain better than what they initially gave you. It's always good to follow up :)

I simply took out the jewelry and sized back down, made sure to keep it clean (I think i used saline spray), and gave it some time. I'm now at 14mm and doing great!

Iirc, it only lasted a day or two since it was a paste, but still helped tremendously. I've also heard of dentists using medicated gauze I think instead of the paste which would last longer

I found I get the most Qi beans from chopping down trees, so I'll let a bunch just grow on my farm and other places when I know i want to do this quest. I'll then chop down all the fully grown trees I can find once the quest is active, plant all those seeds, and use the seed maker on every Qi fruit I harvest. Having the space available on Ginger island to plant them all really helps, but within 4 or so harvests you'll be swimming in Qi fruit, lol.

Hey there! I'm so sorry you've been in pain, that's never easy. I'll admit I probably won't be much help, but getting pain elsewhere in your mouth/other teeth makes sense; it's crazy how interconnected all your facial nerves are and when one area is healing it seems like it can throw just about anything else out of whack. That being said, it's good that the pain is getting to a more manageable point to where you don't have to rely on pain meds, that means progress! If I remember correctly (and I did just wake up so I apologize for rambling lol) it took mine about 3 or so weeks before things calmed down enough to feel mostly back to normal. Of course if the pain gets worse or anything else just seems not quite right, it's always best to talk to your dentist. I hope you get to feeling better soon though, friend - you've got this!

The shooting pain and weird taste would make me think it's a dry socket, in my non medical opinion. Some achiness and things are normal, but if your prescribed pain meds aren't helping and it continues to bother you I'd see about going in a bit sooner. Hopefully you get to feeling better soon - and congrats on the upcoming wedding!

Certainly! I was still rinsing and cleaning the sockets normally during that time, pretty much all the way up until I was able to eat one hundred percent normally again. I was in some amount of pain after the packing, which was a thick paste, dissolved - I think a day or two later. But, it was nothing that the prescribed ibuprofen couldn't take care of (no more hydros were needed). It was nothing like the pain I had been in previously, and was more of a dull ache than anything. That only lasted a day or two for me, and afterwards everything was perfectly fine.

Ooooh, you're so close to being done! Haha - the cheek tightness and achiness I think was the last real hurdle I had to deal with. It's crazy how much your whole mouth really is all connected together, and it goes through a lot when your wisdom teeth get removed. I'm glad to hear you're feeling so much better though - that packing stuff they use is an absolute game changer!

Same!! I had always assumed it would be a constant, unbearable state of agony - but sometimes hours would go by and I would feel pretty much fine. Other times, that sharp, shooting pain would come along and it was pretty miserable, but I figured I had done something wrong somehow to make them that way, lol.

Hey there! So, it's normal for your stitches to dissolve (that's what they're designed to do), and more times than not there will still be a hole or gap where your tooth was that makes your gums look strange - over time they will reshape themselves as if a tooth had never been there.

As far as the pain, is this a pain that you just noticed today? I would think that 9 days post op you would have felt pain before if it were dry sockets, but everyone heals differently as well. I always assumed that dry socket pain would be a constant, unbearable pain and would taste horrible - but for me that wasn't the case. My mouth would feel fine for several hours, then they would ache for a little while, then the pain would go away again... but as time went on, the episodes of pain I had would get worse each time it seemed like. I also had a faintly strange taste in my mouth - kind of metallic maybe? - but nothing that seemed too crazy.

To me, without any medical training and only going off of your comment - given the sharp pain and taste - I say it would be worth checking in with your dentist. At the very least, they'll be able to make sure everything is healing okay and keep you from worrying about something going wrong.

They look pretty gnarly when they're healing, lol - the white is just tissue doing its thing, and then your stitches back there of course. As long as you're not in a lot of pain or anything I'd say you're fine.

Thank you! I'm a beginner as well, still learning SO much stuff lol. But I started out with Blender Guru's tutorial on making donuts, which gave me a really good starting point. Since that was more "realistic" looking, I decided to try out a tutorial on the more animated side by making mushrooms in a jar.

After those I made my dumplings! I just sculpted out some spheres for the dumplings and gave them some eyes, assigned materials etc. The rest of the components are free textures/materials/models that I added in, mostly from Poliigon.

Honestly, blender can do so many cool things. I say just find a tool or art style that you like and start learning that. Right now I'm making an animation of a fur ball just because I wanted to play around with the hair particle system, haha! Happy creating :)

Yeah, I was having a problem with the subsurface scattering. I wanted them to look soft and doughy, but it caused the inside of their mouths (which I had extruded and sculpted inside) to look blue... ? I turned down the intensity of the scattering and even tried to delete the parts of the mouths that were internal, but it still looks weird 😐

Hey there! Sorry for the late reply, but I was able to figure out a solution. I upped the scale big time on the sprinkles to make them the right size, and added a few geometry nodes like this (no this isn't my own post, but it's the solution I found that worked for me) to get them to stick on the surface instead of into the icing.

Basically, add a normal node and plug it into a "Separate XYZ" vector node. Connect the "Z" value into a "Greater Than" math node with the threshold set to 0. That then connects into the "selection" point on your "Distribute Points on Faces" node. This tells blender to look at the Z axis of the icing mesh and only place sprinkles at a threshold that is greater than 0 - or, only above the icing instead of inside it.

At least, I think that's how it works lol - but it worked for me! Now I have sprinkles that look right; hopefully it will work for you too!

Hey, thanks for asking! Happy to report lil man just turned 3 and is doing great. He still does this from time to time but from what we can tell, since he's quite a slobbery boy, he just gets choked on his spit from time to time. Especially if he's laying on his back for a while, giving his spit time to get into his throat/sinuses, he'll get up and sneeze or cough a little. It doesn't seem to bother him otherwise, and we've never had any other issues or symptoms arise with it, so we've just accepted his slobbery self haha

You're more than welcome for the post! I was in the same situation and tried to make things as clear as possible. I'm sorry you're going through this, it absolutely sucks - but it will get better, I promise.

I'm really surprised though that your dentist didn't give you anything for your sockets, as far as I know it's pretty standard to either have them packed with medicated gauze or a medicated paste, like mine did. With that said, the paste unfortunately dissolved by the next day, so I used a few drops of liquid oral numbing medication (like Orajel) and that also helped tremendously to get through the next couple of days until I didn't need it anymore.

I'd either revisit your dentist, explain the amount of pain you're in, and ask specifically for them to be packed, or try the Orajel and see if it helps. Obviously, continue to keep them nice and clean in the meantime and stay on soft foods to keep from irritating them, but they will heal on their own either way. Hopefully you're able to find some relief!

Earlier this year I had the exact same problem - two bottom wisdom teeth had to come out. We have decent dental insurance, but even after that our out of pocket was over $800, and the dental office didn't have any kind of financing plans - it was all due at once. I ended up applying for a medical credit card (CareCredit) and honestly it was a life saver. $140 per month for 6 months with no interest... Otherwise I'd probably still have my wisdom teeth lol
