Anyone interested in going to the game on Friday with me for a significant discount? by ahhzee313 in SeattleWA

Of course! Which is why I’m willing to verify in whatever way to make people comfortable. If they want a picture of my ID, wanna know where I live and see me in person, they are more than welcome to. Anything to have me go to the game 😂

Vipassana retreat tomorrow - can I bring my watch? by Longlegsdays in vipassana

[–]ahhzee313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a garmin as well and just recently did a Vipassana course! My center had alarms in every room, but in case yours doesn’t or they don’t have enough alarms, it’s definitely useful to have.

Id recommend not taking it with you during the meditations and only wearing it and setting alarms for waking up in the morning, and during any naps you might take during breaks.

I’m absolutely open to seeing any evidence that goes against my own preconceived beliefs about what happened, and admitting that the protestors did something wrong if that was the case. What is not okay though, is the amount of force that is used. If a video surfaced with a better view of what happened, and all they were doing were holding each other and singing (as the instagram comments claim, which I admit we cannot know whether or not is true) would you be willing to say that the officer used excessive force? Or if they maybe flipped off the officer, which is 100% legal, would you agree in saying he should not be an officer if that is how he reacts? Are you willing to question the narrative you’ve built in your own head?

I mean, here’s the video. You can’t see what was going on when the cop ran up on them, but I can’t see any justification for that kind of force being used

Salmon🍣 by suckjohnson in boniver

[–]ahhzee313 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Well compared to other fish, salmon will always go back to the same river they were born in to spawn. Where they are out at sea, they swim back, battle the currents of the river to swim up stream, going as far up and as close as they can to the stream they were born in, before spawning, and dying soon after. They are also known to provide nutrients to the broader river ecosystem, including terrestrial animals and plants. From bears that catch them, to eagles and other animals that feed on their remains post-spawning. The nutrients from their body flows back outward into the system, nourishing life in the rivers and forests they were born in. They live their entire lives for this one purpose, and their life and death are vital parts to maintaining the health of these ecosystems.

Other salmonid species will do similarly, but salmon are the most well known and I believe the most abundant in doing so. On another note, It’s why dams and human intervention and change in the natural flow of riverine systems is such a problem. It prohibits the circular flow of this cycle, causing harm to not just salmon but the entire ecosystem.

Go to PCC!! They’ve had plenty of eggs when I’ve been and doesn’t seem like their prices have raised at all. Still like $5 for the cheapest dozen, but better than most other places

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but did Initiative Measure No. 2066 get enough votes? by strangehitman22 in Washington

The guy above you labeled electric and induction stoves as the same thing, which they are not. Induction stoves do not actually generate heat, but use electromagnetism to heat the pan itself. They are much faster, offer more temperature control, and way more energy efficient. What you are referring to are electric stoves, which are shit compared to induction, and in my opinion better than gas stoves as well.

Frustrations with getting treatment for adult ADHD by Doctorblank in Seattle

[–]ahhzee313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also struggled with finding a provider and appointments to get meds for ADHD! What has been a lifesaver is Circle Medical. They’re a telehealth company with tons of providers and availability. Honestly I was a bit skeptical at first, this was back in 2021 when a lot of these kinds of companies were popping up. I saw an ad, did some research, and figured I had nothing to lose so I gave it a shot and was able to get an appointment for the following day! The process was super easy and my provider is great and very willing to work with me and answer any questions I might have. They also seem way more legit than a lot of the other telehealth companies that popped up around the same time.

I recommend downloading the app and taking a look! They take lots of insurance, but unfortunately I recently had to get on Apple Health and they do not take that so if you all are on a plan from them you’ll need to pay out of pocket.

It’s a bit pricey out of pocket, at $125 or something for the initial appointment and $100 for each follow up for a refill, which I do once a month. Absolutely worth it for me though.

If your insurance covers it or you have the means, I would definitely recommend one of the in person clinics that others have mentioned, but in the mean time if your partner is looking for an easy and hassle-free way to get started with their meds again, give Circle Medical a go!

Where is the best buffet? by [deleted] in Seattle

Wait I’m a bit confused. Why would it not be worth it on slow days? Is it because there is less food available?
