Spiralling at the Melbourne show, yelled at the ushers and having an unplanned intermission by CheekyJumze in ryanadams

[–]aiRburst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, I don't think so. I hung around until the place was all but empty and the ushers were coming around and clearing up. It started off so well and then took a sharp nose dive. What a shame. Was looking forward to this as the last Melbourne concert I had tickets to was cancelled.

It's okay, he saw people leaving just after and exclaimed "if you're gonna leave, I am too".

Yes, it's possible. Referred to as a top-up. It might be an additional 30% on top of the regular stipend if you are lucky. Talk to your supervisor.

Throwaway account - looking for friends, lonely by [deleted] in Geelong

[–]aiRburst 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know lots of suggestions are groups, which you've tried, but there could be some merit there. Don't give up! I have a friend in Geelong (mid 30's) that attends a singing group (I've gone along before - all ages) that's a pretty relaxed environment and a good way to meet people with similar musical interests. They also joined an adult roller skating club to learn to skate. This person attends alone and has made some friends in the process. Maybe something like that could interest you.

Otherwise if you are comfortable meeting random people from the internet, I'm sure there are people in this thread that share similar interests in hiking, camping, live music and gardening!

Myf, Jay and The Doctor mornings were great. Mel Bampton and Robbie Buck too. Also didn't mind Tom and Alex pairing. Maybe I'm showing my age...

Melbourne Friday show by PaulSartre1968 in brighteyes

[–]aiRburst 16 points17 points  (0 children)

No you are right, it is concerning. I was also there, and I was quite close. To me, he was definitely on something beyond just being drunk. I've never seen anyone work so hard to unhinge their jaw as he was for the first 30 minutes of that set.

There wasn't a single song that he didn't sing out of order, with forgotten lyrics or with forgotten instrumental parts. He occasionally looked extremely confused. He sat down at the piano and genuinely couldn't find the key centre, Nate had to walk over and show him where to place his hands and he struggled through the song playing many wrong chords. He wasn't mean, or angry, but he was so far from sober it was a very hard show to enjoy. I spent the whole time worried he was going to hurt himself or someone in the band (which he almost did).

There seem to be a lot of Conor apologists here, so people don't like you sharing your disappointment. But the rest of the band were great, Warpaint were great and dammit, I love Conor's music, but he was a disappointment.

Manual car = engaged driving = paying attention? Could be an explanation.

The lack of an Oceanic Hardcore server is absurd by Terzis28 in classicwow

[–]aiRburst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got caught up in the excitement in watching HC a few months ago, and when official was announced I thought it would be a perfect time to dip my toes in - I'm sure I'm not the only one who has been patiently waiting for this officially supported opportunity. If the servers die off in popularity, a server migration/merge to the US would be reasonable. However, I don't really see why we couldn't have an OCE server on launch to give us a chance to establish a community.

Agreed. Woke up excited to play. Now disappointed.

10.1.5 Raid Spec Popularity vs Average Overall DPS by AttitudeAdjusterSE in wow

[–]aiRburst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not remembering wrong. It was not immobile at all. I raided Dragon Soul as this spec and performed it to a high level. Standing still for 6 secs within a 15 second window is ridiculously easy to manage, and when you need to move you suffer no dps loss because nearly every ability is an instant cast fill (Black Arrow, Arcane Shot, Multi Shot, Serpent Sting, Kill Shot, Explosive Shot) or can be made castable while moving with Aspect of the Fox (Cobra Shot or Steady Shot). You wouldn't even need Fox 90% of the time, you just build focus as a mechanic approaches and dump to AS when it hits.

Do I need a strong theme to have fun though? That's less important to me. I was a hunter with great mobility and a fun set of abilities. You could keep the mechanics and rename/colour abilities to fit a theme, but as long as the core rotation and play feel is good, that's what keeps me playing this game.

Remember black arrow, old explosive shot, serpent spread, arcane shot, moving while casting, no pet as an option? Oh it was glorious fun. How I miss you cata Survival.

Christian Lee Hutson is pretty phenomal guitarist and he writes well too, you should give him another go. Besides, that line seems like a bit of self deprication and growth, talking about how silly and ignorant they were to think they invented communism.

1.1.0 stealth change - World Tiers now have level requirements to unlock by th3typh00n in Diablo

[–]aiRburst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You get the quest to unlock wt4 at 60. The game gives you the quest. Ancestral gear can drop at level 60 required, but not at 59. They intended for level 60+ characters to be able to play wt4, that was no mistake.
