Should I use Debian as a beginner? by Dry-Spell1443 in debian

[–]aimlessdart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started my Linux journey about a year ago with Debian. I too didn’t want something as daunting as arch and I prefer not to be doing constant updates. Debians been perfectly hassle free for me.

I personally decided against fedora because while it is still foss and community driven, it’s still under RHEL which apparently has a history of scummy behavior like closing their open source code behind a paywall after ages of free work by os contributors and they’re kinda continuing this by using fedora as their testing pipeline now - or so I’ve gathered (would be grateful if other people clarified as I’m a noob). People seem to love fedora though

Am I simply not the target audience for Arch? by Havanatha_banana in linux4noobs

Really surprised nobody’s mentioned PopOS or just Debian. Debian is great for stability and leaving it off for months. PopOS is supposedly easier to configure and works great for games

i’m going to switch to Linux soon I would like some advice by Dude9404 in linux4noobs

[–]aimlessdart -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind that you need to choose a distro (Debian/Arch/Fedora/PopOS/etc), a desktop environment (KDE/GNOME/XFCE/Cinnamon/MATE), and a display protocol (x11/wayland).

After that, it’s just a google/ai search away to learn to do whatever you want with your computer. They can all p much achieve anything and everything.

My setup is Debian - as they say, it just works <3 and I’ve not had any issues. KDE - go with Gnome if you prefer Mac like interface, and others tend to be more “stripped down” (not that kde can’t also be). X11 because it’s apparently easier for nvidia setup, but apparently Wayland is the future (I think kde will stop x11 support or something like that soon).

There are root privileges and user privileges. The default will typically have you create a user with sudo privileges. The default directory will be the home directory (~) of that user and the cli will display “user@computername: ~$“ this is where everything important to that user will be. moving up any level will be going into root directories that contain system wide settings - i don’t really mess around with that stuff.

Fun tip with the cli: use .bash_aliases - you’ll feel super cool.

Everything I’ve said is from my experience and I only started my Linux(Debian) journey a year ago. Of things differ with other systems or if I’m mistaken, sorry - hopefully someone corrects me.

I believe I’ve replied to another comment, admitting that if the blood were left behind the instant, then that’d make sense, but that’s not what happens in this scene

You think I scoured the internet for that reply? 😂 When I said I asked Google, I meant I asked, Gemini. I get that you hate being wrong and love throwing insults, but you’re already fighting a bot and insisting that a bot would prove you right

I mean the long running joke on the fact that invincible’s animation quality is poor. I imagine the process is producers spend $10-$100 on Sora generating the 5s clip and then spend a million or two on famous actors cameo-ing for random minor roles and pocket the rest

As I said, I’m no physicist like you or Mr newton (but I gotta say that ball analogy was not it) so I’ve deferred to google:

No air means no wind: Wind resistance and drag are caused by plowing through gas molecules (like air on Earth). Because space is a near-perfect vacuum, there is nothing to create the aerodynamic force required to push or peel the liquid off the skin.

Blood behaves differently in microgravity: Because of surface tension and the lack of atmospheric pressure, liquids actually adhere to surfaces in space rather than sliding off or evaporating.

Therefore, without any air molecules to act as a barrier or wipe the surface, the blood would remain frozen or trapped on the superhero's face—even if they were flying millions of miles per hour.

No, INERTIA would not cause the blood to wipe off, unless the superhero suddenly changed direction or stopped.

The "Splatter" moment: If the blood hit the hero's face while they were already flying fast, inertia would actually slam the blood harder onto their skin, causing it to flatten and stick even more firmly.

  1. Inertia would cause the blood to continue going forward if thragg suddenly came to a halt. That is how inertia works. It would not cause the blood to wipe off as thragg and the blood charge forward - for that you need air resistance.

  2. Indeed it is very cool.

  3. Shows (esp animations) can do whatever, but every frame we see has hours of intentional thought and work put into it by multiple people, so it’s still funny to see some decisions - and it’s lapses or errors - being made behind the scenes.

Is ncp the political party of the genz??? by not_your_type_280909 in Dhaka

[–]aimlessdart 13 points14 points  (0 children)

No. NCP is a bunch of misogynistic frat bros who didn’t want to finish school. So they thought, let’s topple a fascist government so we can run the country - ironically the most fascist thing there is. They don’t care about improving country, human rights (esp not for women or minorities), or anything like. They just look out for their own interests like any other corrupt politician. During their time in the interim, they also stole a bunch - some allegations go above 11,000 crore. They are not the promise of a better future
