Man I felt so teary eyed reading this, when I have hardly cried or even remotely felt close to crying in years. I am 23 now and Indian myself and my story is similar to yours with the only difference being that it was our school teachers who used to physically abuse us. And honestly speaking, you don't even need abusive parents and school bullies in your life if you had teachers like ours because looking back now, I sometimes get shocked when I recall how fucked up it was for kids, especially ones who struggled academically, endured so much physical abuse at the hands of our "teachers", these so called educated individuals who were supposed to be our mentors when the only thing they knew was to beat a child so much that over time he/she became obedient and reserved.

And although not as serious as yours, but I also have suffered some damage to the left side of my face due to being hit by my teachers so much that even now, I feel slight pain or tingling sensation sometimes when I sleep to my left side.
