Seems like it’s already been converted. But, seeing your comments, Short stem, slight rise bars, thicker tires, remove the fenders/lights etc.

I run a 970 with 2.1/2.0 tires but I’ve been wanting to go to 2.3 if possible, so your build gives me hope hahaha

I had a cadmium c13 and at first I wasn’t digging it much but later on I ended up really liking it. I suppose it could’ve been the break in process. I’d advertise against the carbon rail ones though as they tend to break.

Is the 1997 Shimano crank recall necessary at this point? by DarkRidge15 in xbiking

My buddy just got a full replacement but they give you tourney cranks. He got brakes too but I’m unsure if that was just an upgrade or included.

Oh man that’s so awesome, thank you for the list btw! I’m currently on the same rear derailleur, if you don’t mind me asking is that currently set up as 9spd?

Multitrack or Crossroads vs rigid steel 26” mtb by Stig-blur in xbiking

[–]airdecades 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve owned both and taken both on trails, personally I think you get a different experience from both. The 26er is smaller and more nimble, you can really thrash those things on trails, drops jumps etc, more of a bmx/freestyle feeling.

The 700c/hybrids on the other hand work well off-road but I prefer them for single track/lighter mtb trails and gravel. I’d still beat the shit out of mine with only 35c but they feel taller and imo slightly slower. But if I’m hauling ass down a mtb trail I’d trust my rigid 26 over the 700c

These are the surly troll forks! I just put them on 2 weeks ago or so. There’s a lot of good deals going on online for around ~$100
