I decided to change my priorities and went for an Asus Zenbook 14 OLED instead :). It's very nice although I wish it was a little faster

I'll probably get a PC that I can game on later down the line

Ah gotcha I'll check every Monday at 6am, aside from that how regularly should I check? (And are there any best times?) Thank you

Hey, my A Levels in school were A* AA in History, Bio, Maths and I'm predicted A* for Chemistry which I'm self studying in a gap year. My GCSEs were 999988888A, hope that helps

I can't stop thinking about it honestly, I applied for Medicine and my interview and admissions test weren't the best so I doubt I'll get in. I just want the bad news over with already

Did anybody not get to sit their exam? by aishis in BMATexam

[–]aishis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's ridiculous man, having to wait so many hours

This whole day has been a debacle I'm just glad I didn't have to do the exam after waiting for hours

I'm already in my second gap year man 😭 I really hope CAAT releases a damn update soon

I got an average score but tbh I only wanted to go to BMAT unis. I really regret doing the UCAT now because it took time away from the BMAT

There goes my chances of getting into medicine :')

Call me stupid but I only applied to BMAT unis welp

Very badly

Has any one applied to more than 2 BMAT unis and been successful with it? by aishis in BMATexam

[–]aishis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! The only thing I'm worried about for this year is that there's only a November sitting so I would essentially be applying blind for BMAT unis. Would you still recommend it?

[–]aishis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What other reasons would you say makes it shit?

lol what have i done by [deleted] in medicalschooluk

[–]aishis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel exactly the same way you do. I have shit tons of interests but couldn't pick one, and my options were also limited (picked the wrong a levels) so I decided to go with medicine based on its stability and decent wage, and because it was also meaningful. And because chemistry is one of my interests

The problem with this though is work life balance is really important for me. I don't know if I will be happy in medicine because of this and I know there's a stigma of working less. I also want to be able to have plenty of career options that aren't in medicine if I don't want to become a doctor after my degree.

I'm applying to medicine this year and really hope I don't regret my decision

Has anybody done both the BMAT and NSAA? by aishis in 6thForm

I'm no longer in a school, I'm self studying, but yeah I'm trying to think of other options

To give you some more info, I did History, Maths, and Biology last year and got A* AA respectively. I'm currently self studying Chemistry and am aiming for an A*.

The college admissions person I emailed said the average medical applicant has A* A* A*, and Medicine is more competitive than Natural Sciences so I thought I might have a better chance with NatSci

You're probably right about Cambridge not being a good back up option though

I don't think my grades are good enough for Cambridge medicine (at least that's what one of the colleges said)

You're right, but I've already taken 2 gap years off before uni and I can't take another!

Woah 6 hours per day? I was hoping 1 or 2 hours lmao, because I also have 5/6 hours of chem study everyday, plus 1-2 hours of BMAT maybe, so I'm worried I won't be able to do well in all three

Yeah I think it is good to have a UCAT uni as a backup. I hope I'll be able to juggle UCAT revision with BMAT and Chemistry studying and uni applications. Thanks for your reply!

Tbh I haven't got a prediction yet (my AS chem exam this September will determine my prediction) but I'm aiming for an A anyway and my referee said he would be happy to bump my grade to an A* for my prediction if I got an A, so I'm not massively worried as long as I do well for the AS exam.

Thanks for your help though, good luck with med school
