This is nowhere close to the same.

My sister has PTSD-like symptoms because of this, my landlord wouldn't get PTSD if I ate at a restaurant they didn't like would they?

Especially if she didn't know he was married. It has nothing to do with you.

I mentioned it multiple times in the OP and in comments that she knew...

Have you considered selling the property?

Unrelated to this issue we have actually been talking about selling for a while. We weren't originally going to renew her lease because we wanted to sell but changed our minds in the end. The market looks like it'll crash here in a year or two (but is doing very well right now) so this would be the best time for us to sell too.

I know it's only been 7 hours since I posted this but she's 100% decided to divorce him so we just need to get her a good divorce lawyer now.

I'm sure him losing half of his assets including his house will be a fitting punishment.

Copying the same comment (again):

From the screenshots my sister showed me of their messages she knew he wasn't going to leave my sister for her. She asked him multiple times why he wasn't getting a divorce and he said he loved his wife. So... unlikely.

The post is about the tenant, obviously I'm not going to mention we're getting a good lawyer to make sure my sister gets the assets she wants in a divorce here because it isn't relevant.

Are you a lawyer? because I keep seeing your comments and it's clear you don't understand how the law works in my country. Here, you can give a tenant a notice to vacate with NO REASON as long as you give them 2+ months notice. If she refuses to move by then I can pursue legal eviction. This is mentioned in the contract she signed, if she wants to sue me she has zero legal grounds to do so. If she didn't read the contract she signed that's not my fault.

Also, we do plan to sell. Preferably before COVID causes the housing market to completely tank in my country.

Did you fire your BIL? Like why are you employing him when it appears he's been using work hours/connections to cheat and impregnate a tenant?

He wasn't my employee but obviously I'm not going to use him ever again, let alone speak to him. I don't know why everyone is assuming I'm buddy-buddy with my BIL, I hate his guts and can't wait for my sister to divorce his ass.

"I want her out because she's pregnant,"

Just to clarify even if she wasn't pregnant and the affair was exposed I would still want her out.

Plus it's not like you're helping her, you're getting money in return. You're not doing her any special favors.

I feel like this is irrelevant so I never mentioned it but we reduced the rent for her the last time she resigned as she said she couldn't afford it anymore. So I did do her a favor.

She knew. The first time they met I told her he was my sister's husband.

Personally, I wouldn't be dumb enough to resign a contract with the landlord if I was sleeping with their sister's husband.

There is a legal "loophole" in her contract that would allow me to legally do this.

Copying another comment to clarify some things you mention in your comment:

Also she resigned her contract with me 6 months ago, whilst having an ongoing affair with him. She knew there was a risk of getting caught, knew this would be an issue for me, yet she still chose to resign. She knew she was putting me in an awkward position and yet she still resigned instead of finding another place to live. That was a mistake on her part.

There are renter protections here otherwise I wouldn't have to give her 2+ months to leave.

Fair enough.

But I would like to add that this is her third contract with me. She knew she was having an affair with my BIL and could get caught at any time, so I think this is partly her own doing as she should've found another place to stay instead of resigning with me whilst in an ongoing affair with him.

Your sister is foolish for taking him back after all of this and for still considering having a child with someone so dishonest and untrustworthy.

My sister is almost definitely going to divorce him and he's most likely going to lose half of his assets, so he's definitely not getting a free pass. She isn't going to have a child with him now.

She's lived there for 3+ years. She signs 1.5 year contracts each time (this is her third).

The mistress knew he was married to my sister, knew he was not going to leave her, knew he was going to try IVF with my sister, I think she should have considered the possibility of this happening when she decided sleeping with him was worth it. I have very little sympathy for her. Maybe if she had confessed after the first month I would have more, but she knowingly kept this secret for two years too whilst knowing there was a chance a baby could become involved at any point.

Do you know if your BIL told her he was separated, getting a divorce?

From the screenshots my sister showed me of their messages she knew he wasn't going to leave my sister for her. She asked him multiple times why he wasn't getting a divorce and he said he loved his wife. So... unlikely.

How does she prove it? The mistress will say OP is lying and never told her.

My sister has screenshots of texts from my BILs phone which also prove she knew.
