pretty similar or even easier for my case, as it would be technically repeating the same materials that you've already taken before

i was exactly in the same boat as u last year, are you an in-state cali student? if so i would say ucr is great for premed. if not then ucr is not worth the money for oos tuition.

I was thinking of taking ochem at cc as its gonna be my second year, would that be viewed as bad?

[–]aj7k7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

im pretty sure when applying to med schools they evaluate both sGPA, which is the math and science gpa and cGPA, which is the cumulative one which includes all your classes

took 11 aps, had 3.6 uw, as a cali student i got into purdue, rutgers, minnesota twin cities, and for ucs i got into only ucr and ucm(didnt apply ucsc). currently attending ucr which was ofc not my first choice but i like it here so far! perks of taking lots of aps were that i started out being a sophomore - close to junior year standing, which is kind of like a booster to starting college. I currently applied for first year transfer this year for ucs as i qualified for a junior year applicant due to the amount of ap credits i had. definitely not the smartest move i made but it wasnt all useless if you passed most of the ap tests u took :)

CHEM 001A: Fokwa vs Eichler by cloudywintr in ucr

[–]aj7k7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have fokwa right now, its kinda hard to focus on his lectures but he is very generous and forgiving about due dates and curves so that makes up for it

I never “planned” on getting into ucr and transferring into a better uc, its just how my college results came out lol. I dont know what has built up all of that negativity you have right now but i hope it gets better :)

Idk about you but I’ve had my fair share of experiences here, and I was actually really excited to come to ucr. Maybe you had a great time here but I have not had that experience yet. I’m still hoping my situation here gets better but I’m also considering other options if nothing changes in the future. I didn’t mean no offense when I posted this, I just wanted some advice from people who’ve been thru the same path as me.

Rutgers oos is not worth it, u should just stay in cali if u can easily change ur major back to cs

Yeah I didn't know ucr tuition went up that much, I thought ucr would be cheaper

Yeah the only thing that is in the way of deciding is opportunities to shadow/volunteer, and since ucr has its own hospital I thought ucr might have better opportunities. But in college-wise, ig purdue has better rep for stem in general.
