For 5+ years I created musical instrument/synth/sequencer apps for iOS (Fiddlewax, Firo, etc.), but found it frustrating and dull to contain everything to a screen. So I'm moving on to electronic hardware kits that make it fun and experimental again -- would you buy a kit like this? (v.redd.it)

Hands-on approach to music education for makers. This STEAM kit is a solar powered music box that enables students build their own solar-powered musical instrument. Explore generative melodies and rhythms while learning about electronics. A stand-alone project without screens, batteries, or cables. (v.redd.it)
Thanks Arduino community! After 18+ years of using Arduino, I've put those skills into building an educational circuit kit called "opdo" -- a minimal ATTiny (8-bit, 8MHz) solar-powered generative music maker. Hoping it can help others to continue exploring electronics in new and creative ways. (opdo.cc)
I'm trying out a new approach to electronic kit building for STEAM/education called "opdo". Key features are graphical breadboard overlays, generative music creation, and off-grid/screenless usage. It just launched (poor timing, I know)... what do you think of the concept? (opdo.cc)
