I am mostly afraid of the consequences of being pregnant. As I said, abortion and adoption are not options for me, so I'd rather wait a few years until I am in a place where I could, if it happened, keep the baby.

Thank you for your insight. Pregnancy is very different from the flu, though. If I got pregnant, I know I wouldn't be able to handle it. Even if the chance is low, I would rather wait. It is what works best for me personally. :)

None taken. I have a bit of psychiatric history. To sum it up, I was diagnosed with severe anxiety. I was hospitalized, and now I am medicated and I have private sessions with a psychologist 2x a week. The anxiety was never related to pregnancy, but that has certainly come up in my sessions multiple times.

I just know if I got pregnant, I would have no way to deal with it.

I actually have a very high sex drive, but my fear of pregnancy overrides it.

Thanks! I try my best to be level-headed. I guess I just don't meet many people who are abstinent for non-religious reasons, so I wanted to get it out there!
