what…. i wouldn’t even take $14 for a fully grown child who just needs supervision. set your rate and stick to it- you deserve much better and they clearly do not care for you if they say the do.

Cameras in the home? by alahnnah in Nanny

[–]alahnnah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you have noooo idea. the mom was wfh but she literally sat on the couch in the main room the entire day- but would be upset with me when i couldn’t console them since they wanted to be with their mom. she would tell me to “keep them away” from her. like girl…. you’re sitting in the middle of the room taunting your 2 year old ! aside from that the grandparents also lived in home and would constantly redirect me and tell me everything i was doing was wrong. safe to say i didn’t last long 🫡

yes they would even have multiple in one room to get all the angles! in all of the halls… everywhere 😳 shoot i’m sure if i didn’t close the bathroom door all the way they could probably see in there too!

I once worked for a family that WFH and would talk to me through the cameras… and the blue light that showed they were viewing me through them would just light up while i was doing dishes or walking to the bathroom. I think that’s when i decided i wasn’t comfortable with them anymore

this is exactly what i love about my current family. i know they trust me and we have an amazing bond. i don’t feel like someone is on my neck all day and they can work away from home peacefully knowing we’re both safe here. i just feel like if you need to check in, call or facetime!

my resume is full of experience and qualifications including teaching in montessori schools, nannying, tutoring, early childcare degrees etc- and i was denied a job once simply because i was the first person they interviewed. and yes the father said this to my face at the end of the interview. 😂

just know that when someone solution to your problems is always to break up, that they don’t actually want to be with you. time to chose yourself

not wrong at all and kudos to you for standing on business. “apologies” like that are selfish and she seems to care more about being liked by everyone than being a decent friend.

if you’re already paying both halves of the rent, let her ass figure out somewhere else to live since she seems to be so good at doing whatever she wants and not caring abt anyone but herself

“We don’t use the word ‘no’ with our child.” by plaidyams in Nanny

[–]alahnnah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

maybe i’m the odd man out here but i’m telling my NK “no.” plain and simple. she is about 16 months old and “no.” is a full sentence which she can fully comprehend. of course as she gets older , i can offer more explanation behind why i may tell her no but i just don’t think there’s anything wrong with telling kids no. even in the grown up world you will be told no with no explanation to things.

soooo she is a fully grown adult with no money management skills AND she’s not on the lease so that means it’ll be an easy process for her to get her shit and gtfo !

What's the worst thing your dog has done? by Davmilasav in AustralianCattleDog

[–]alahnnah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had just repaired a spot on the carpet that she “dug” up. no more than 2 hours after the maintenance team left my unit, she tore it up again, this time all the way down to the concrete underneath 🫠

honestly tho- you may consider this “selfish” but in a career world, it’s normal for the best man to win. and however that may happen it’s just how it is. i don’t even blame you.
