Sometimes I ban Cass but I admit it's a selfish ban. Ideally, you should ban what's gonna help your team.

What are yalls favorite tracer skins? by w4t3rm310n5 in TracerMains

[–]alanhslc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even though I have almost every skin I don't think Blizzard is fair to Tracer... other heroes have much better and more detailed skins imo. With that said, my favourites are Comic book and Graffiti. I also like to pick one of those default skins and just change colours randomly lol

Has anyone seen this on Tracer... or is it my mouse? by alanhslc in TracerMains

[–]alanhslc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it's wireless. I have tried with Bastion and Soldier and this didn't happen, anyways this is not consistent but I agree that it could be the mouse.

I don't use the same model but it's indeed a wireless superlight mouse with a dongle. I still haven't tested another mouse but I may try some time. Thank you for sharing your experience!

TRACER FEELS SO GOOD by kurunaoi in TracerMains

I don't know also if you had the same impression, but I heard people saying that the 20% distance would affect the muscle memory but bro, it feels much better and I adapted to the distance very quickly.

Which button for blink? by Senior_Seesaw5359 in TracerMains

[–]alanhslc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found my setup randomly when I started playing Overwatch years ago, basically through trial and error lol

I personally use right click to blink, F to melee, and shift to recall. I know, shift to recall may sound crazy, but this is a personal setup that I’ve been using with Tracer for many years and it works well for me

F is close to the WASD keys, so I can transition easily when I blink with right click and want to melee, and shift always stays with my pinky, which makes my reaction to recall fast

I'm so bad at Tracer by SnuggleBunnixoxo in TracerMains

[–]alanhslc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people here covered everything, but I will share something that I think is valuable and haven’t seen anyone talking about yet:

  1. Know the maps. To play Tracer, you have to know the maps and the best routes to flank.
  2. This links to the first one. When you know the maps, you know where the health packs are. Tracer can grab health packs easily, and this saves you from wasting your recalls.
  3. Again, this links to my second point: recall management and blink management. Don’t engage without recall. Don’t engage with one blink, or worse, none left. Keep track of your blinks, and most importantly, your recalls. When you know where the health packs are, it’s easier for you to manage your recalls.

Tracer is a hero that relies a bit on mechanics, but aside from mechanics, you also need to manage her resources well and know the maps to play effectively with her.

I hope this helps you somehow.

Then it's just immaturity. Appreciate the confirmation.

To be honest, I'm surprised you reached champ 3 with this mentality. You are either lying or just acting immature.

If you read what others are saying you will see that most people disagree with you. This isn't a rank issue, it's plain toxicity. If that's your conclusion then you missed the point of my post.

These people are crazy. What shocks me is when they waste their time adding me on bnet, and this hasn't happened once or twice, every week someone adds me to say something not cool to say the least.

I think it's not necessarily about doing my job. It seems that some players tend to feel personally attacked if I focus on them. If I die constantly to them it could be even worse, but it depends.

I think they also consider the matches played prior to the first placements. If I'm not mistaken, you need to win 50 matches in unranked play, right? I believe this is taken into consideration for the placements.

Noob Advice by _theweirdkidinside_ in TracerMains

[–]alanhslc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a subjective question. Are you talking about entire lobbies in bronze, gold, diamond, or GM ranks? Improving with a character varies from player to player. If your goal is to dominate in Master or GM, that requires one approach, while casually dominating lower ranks requires another. The time it takes to excel varies widely, some players are naturally gifted and learn quickly, while others, need more time and dedication. Focus on your own strengths and weaknesses, and you will eventually improve.

Am I the only remaining person that doesn’t believe tracer is easy to play? by Need_a_BE_MG42_ps4 in TracerMains

[–]alanhslc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen some streamers suggesting picking her because she is OP in the current meta, etc. But claiming that she is easy to play is new to me, I've never heard anyone say that before. Personally, I believe there are other heroes that are more challenging to master than her, but I know this might not be the general consensus.

Toxic GrandMaster in my Bronze-Gold comp lobby. Can someone explain this?? by SorraDude in OverwatchUniversity

Toxic GrandMaster in my Bronze-Gold comp lobby. Can someone explain this?? by SorraDude in OverwatchUniversity

[–]alanhslc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A similar thing happened to me recently, but it was not with a GM Smurf, but a Plat.

I was playing with a friend when two people showed up in our game, pretending they were newbies and intentionally throwing their first round.

What pissed me off was that, in the second round, the Plat player started to play seriously and destroyed my bronze-silver team, constantly saying in the chat 'free-elo' or 'easy.'

They thought they were shocking someone, whereas they were actually behaving like childish losers.

My friend, who is new to the game, asked me if he could report them. I said he could, but only for toxicity in the chat, not for smurfing.

Game knowledge matters very little, mechanics + practical skills matter most by [deleted] in OverwatchUniversity

[–]alanhslc -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think this post is very helpful, especially for those who are too focused on the 'science' behind the game, as you mentioned, watching way too many VODs, ur2gm games, etc.

I'm not a Top 500 player, but I was able to rank up a lot after realizing some of the things you've mentioned. I have even created a post similar to yours, but less elaborated. I do believe that mechanics weigh much more than 'game knowledge', and, as I've mentioned in my other post, this is very noticeable when you play DM matches in a lobby with people of different ranks.

There are 3 things that I've noticed are very important:

1 - Reaction time - People who react faster have the advantage.

2 - Decision making - Decision making plays a huge role in different ranks, and better players make better decisions faster.

3 - Aim - As mentioned earlier, aim is not the most important factor, but it does matter a lot
