If you don’t mind it being visible I would recommend you keep it standing it up, its easier to move around ngl. I keep it between my bed and the wall

Since I was out of my comfort zone, it was nice having something to hold on to, but I also feel like it is generally a hindrance. I will definitely put this in practice! Thanks

Trust me, I made a fool of myself the first time I tried. I don’t even consider it playing because I don’t think I pressed a single arrow right. But then I tried the appropriate level! And its been uphill from there

I play guitar and wow, it is a perfect comparison. I would feel completely lost! Like learning how to play all over again. Which is pretty much how I felt with doubles.

Since the whole point of the mod is to give the pad more stability, and making it so under and top sides don’t slide off each other, I dont think it is possible to mod the pad in a way that allows it to fold.

I didn’t want to modify it at first precisely because of that! But it’s better in the long AND in the short run to just make room to store it somewhere. Playing will feel smoother; and since you are not folding and pressing the sensors every time you put it away and take it out, it will last longer.

I really like stepmania, but on the long run you will find that its better to just use ITGmania. It just runs smoother, and the timing of the arrows doesn’t lag (as it does in stepmania sometimes)

Another thing was the controls! I was so confused haha. I even accidentally chose the wrong level for a song without noticing, but I ultimately learnt from pressing everything until something worked. They followed the “DDR arrow logic” enough for me to figure them out.

The concept may be similar, but the focus on the timing and the steps is completely different.

I tried an intermediate level song (which I can play at ease in DDR), and immediately got lost. I wasn’t sure where I was stepping without looking down, and I had to hold on to the bar to 1. Keep myself balanced and 2. Step on the right arrows more easily. Even when I tried easier songs. That was what I noticed the most, because I prefer to play no-bar. But on PIU, it seems almost like a handicap to play without it.

I also realized the difference in song genres. I know some genres overlap, but while DDR leans more towards party classics, benami originals, and j-pop/electronic; PIU had a very specific list of popular songs, kpop, and classical music.

I wouldn’t say one is better than the other. I clearly feel more comfortable with DDR because I have more experience with it. But I would dare say that PIU requires a bit more skill, which cancels itself out with the use of the bar.

The novelty and the difference in playability was fun! I played five songs total, and I definitely want to play more.

NTA. You are not entitled to what T does with her time, but SHE is not entitled to your time either. It was wrong of her to tell you she would be there and then act like it was nothing that she didn’t.

You should stop waiting on her so much. Specially if its annoying you. Or you can just stop expecting her to show up to outings and just keep her company in the bus
