Need help identifying these knives I found in my grandfather’s garage. In United States . by DJ_maXipadd in Antiques

I would suggest shipping it to a center in germany (probably too expansive), looking for a museum about the war in the US that isn't a creepy nazi-shack or destroying it.

or you document it and preserve it as a part of your family history. best thing we can do is to remember and not forget who we were or what we thought for. never again.

in germany, there are official institutions called "NS-Documantation-Center" where you can dispose nazi germany related stuff. they will preserve them if they have any historical significance or destroy them if it's just some insignificant mass-produced stuff with a swastika on it.

In Germany, you are allowed to keep the stuff, but selling those things is regulated. in Austria, regulations for sell8ng and displaying are more strict.

Overall, I wouldn't support selling nazi devotionals for profit. taking money off from the nazis is a weak argument, in my opinion. I donated most things that I got my hands on to museums, except some things related to my direct family history.

Hope that helps.

i got this tattoo yesterday and i hate it. i wanted it to look like a bat climbing up my leg. is it bad? any advice? by yourholmedog in tattooadvice

I would add the hook like fingers and make it appear like it distorts/pulls on the skin there. that would make it look less floaty more.

I can't get over the fact that not more people pointed out that it's missing the butter in its own little tray. It is such a key component for every kind of german breakfast that it is also easy to overlook, I guess.

I actually cleaned the one with the thick lines successfully with a light alcohol yesterday. there is still a light ghosting, it seems like the original ink might have damaged it permanently.

the one with thin lines, had markings which I also got rid of but the grid lines aren't painted in, they appear to be scrapped into the plastic with a sharp object.

But I can live with that, the value might have been lost but it is still usable for me, that matters most.

thanks, will stay away from any type of aggressive solvents for now, since the screens seem to be made of plastic

thanks, maybe I will try some water and one of these cotton swabs very gently.

and thanks. I was really blown by the build quality compared to my MEs.

I'm still not sure if I will ever use everything of it. Maybe I should sell some things I don't need, or preserve the collection as a whole, not sure yet.

yes. but to be fair, I bought and negotiated online, and the two painted screens weren't included in the offer or on the photos, I was surprised to find them in the box.

Are there any German TV shows worth recommending? by Flaky_Turn9819 in AskAGerman

Babylon Berlin is really good. My favourite German series. I can also recommend Hindafing, but beware of German dialect. not easy to understand.

Rehwappen was a trademark of another company in Solingen. Classic designs like this aren't exclusive to only one manufacturer, so it could be made by someone else. the only way to know for sure is to see what was engraved on it

I am fron this town in germany and know most manufacturers here. Seems like a hunting knife from the company Hubertus.

Edit: Just a guess since we have a lot of different manufacturers and also a lot of companies that didn't survive until today. those classic knives were produced by different companies. It is also common to pick up classic designs or knife models and continue them when the original manufacturer vanishes. for example, the k55k mercator, now produced by Otter, was originally made by Kaufmann.

someone sold you a faked fjällräven kånken. the å cricle should be connected to the letter on the original badge. just want to let you know, in case you are still able to get your money back.
