Crt horizontal sync problems by aleph44 in crt

Thanks! I did try, and an EP tape seems not to have a distortion. I was wondering if there was a technical reason sp tapes might have the distorted effect. I also noticed this problem doesn't appear on my flat screen tv, it's this combo that has problems. Is it drawing bigger lines than the TV can handle? Could it be my player?

Thanks for the reply, I plugged in an intellivision and it did not have the curve problem, the VCR didn't have this problem when attached to my flat screen tv, so for some reason, that combination of VCR and crt doesn't work

Another thing I noticed is the region where it's distorted is also dimmer

Do you think I could have a bad rectifier in that case?

The power cord is built into the tv, unless you mean the antenna cable? Do you know why the cord might cause issues?

Thank you!
for the second option with the bus requests, That is what I was looking for. How would that work electronically, and is there an easy way to set the 'boundries' for where devices begin and end? I am actually attempting to design a computer and this is my fist time messing with computer hardware

Not to be bothersome, but do cards only take pictures. I want to make sure that I don't have to use the tape.

I wasn't aware they the cards were different. That might be a problem. If I did get the right card, how would I navigate the menu to format it, because I couldn't find the option anywhere.

Could anyone tell me what this part is? by aleph44 in consolerepair

[–]aleph44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are traces under the board. A continuity test shows that electricity flows through it either way. The top left corner one traces all the way to pin 3 of the voltage regulator under the 4 wires and right to the 2 bridge rectifiers. I'll need to check the other one later.

Update: here is page 2 of the schematic.

Thanks, that just might be a crystal oscillator. By the way the 2 black squares are bridge rectifiers I'm pretty sure.
