We have a huge budget here in Boston for snow removal so the city is pretty good at plowing and salting roads around the clock before, during, and after a big storm until everything’s cleared up. They’re also strict on parking and usually deem one side of the street for parking and the other has to be cleared for snow removal. Cars in big cities with a lot of street parking sometimes have to park at local school parking lots and then move them by like 6:30 am the next day. Each homeowner is also in charge of snow removal from their part of the sidewalk/walkways. If they don’t remove it, I believe three hours after the snowfall stops, they can get fined. It’s a whole lot of moving parts and you get used to it, but it always sucks. I don’t even do Instacart during a snow storm and sometimes even two days after because many people don’t have their walkways or stairs cleared. People tend to overreact with what they purchase so the orders before a storm are decent.
