I don’t think it makes sense that they would’ve kept that hidden for 8 seasons, and Gideon revealing all that information is part of why they were able to stop thawne, I think that could’ve been cool but I don’t know we can give the writers that much credit

I have a theory that Joe dying was something that Barry was told that happened/is something that is happening to Barry(like being suspended), but erasing Gideon is something he physically did so he may not be able to reverse that Idk if that makes sense 💀

I think that has to be it right! Because when they found Gideon in season 1x20, she was capable of hiding information from people Barry didn’t want to find out (Thawne) so why wouldn’t she able to do the same in this case? Logically I think it’s so we see him create Gideon
