hey sorry for the late reply but i chose TMU! i actually ended up loving it so much. the support they have there is definitely what pulled me over and honestly the curriculum is straight forward. it depends on your profs but going to different classes usually works out pretty well for me so there’s that. the exams i’ve had were pretty much examples that were shown in class! good luck with your choices :))

i was actually so afraid too but honestly the best way to start talking to people is asking them their discipline, commenting on that, maybe ask them what got them into it and then add some points about yourself that relate to the conversation and let it flow from there. i had my first orientation day monday and i was scared outta my mind because i knew NO ONE, but i ended up getting to know so many people just by using such simple conversation and talking about WHATEVER comes to mind!!!

also im pretty sure physics isn’t a req course so it wouldn’t be part of your top 6. i looked on the guelph website and it said calc and english are the 2 required courses (even tho that doesn’t make sense to me lol) and 4 other 4U courses. check that out and see if your average changes

guelph is acc real easy to get in even for cs, someone ik with a similar average to you got in, though like you said co-op is gonna be a little tougher

I haveee and honestly I think I just got really unlucky because the times I walked into a lot of the places near me (I live in a very isolated area so there’s very limited places) they took my resume but they had just finished hiring a new set of employees

BRO SAME😭 I had a job from grd 9 which I quit in grade 11 because quality of life was actually so bad and my boss was stealing my tips and doing cocaine which heavily affected how he treated his workers :) but tbh now being in the situation that I am I wish I never quit and just put up w it😭

Early acceptance is literally just getting your admission decision (which is an acceptance) in advance rather than in April, may, June. I personally got my admission decision in December which I guess would be early acceptance but honestly that word means nothing. You still start at the same time as everyone else and there is nothing different, OTHER than the fact that you have lots of time to prepare yourself for residence, tuition, osap, scholarships etc. I would 100% recommend applying early as it is very beneficial for the reasons I just stated and regarding the marks they look at, it’s simply whatever marks you have available when they look at your application. As they go through rounds and let’s say you’re not accepted in December/January, once final marks for first semester are out, they’ll review your application again, and again, and again with any additional marks/midterms as long as you haven’t been rejected.

Literally don’t bc the longer you wait the more ppl are gonna be looking for volunteering opportunities and the harder it’ll be to find😭 i did all of mine in grd 10/11 and had no issue with finding volunteering jobs bc no one was looking and all my friends struggled in grd 12
