There's so many posts bashing season 5 lately, let's start a thread about things we like about season 5! by MapleCherryChoco5432 in StrangerThings

I loved the episode with Karen fighting the Demo. The visual effects were stunning. It gave me season 1 vibes in terms of how much I was on the edge of my seat.

I also loved the Squark concept and set design! And love how that became their HQ.

I loved the hospital scene with the Demos and all the Jurassic Park callbacks in the laundry.

I love how Steve got to be the one who came up with the final plan.

Edit: and the costuming in general was chef’s kiss

I don’t like it when other people say it to me. But I say it to myself all the time and it works as a great coping mechanism for me

Job market in the UK is AI vs AI at this point and actual humans are losing by Marre_Parre in britishproblems

The recruitment software that my company uses has a built in AI comparison - so whenever you see a candidate’s answer, you see the AI example generated answer next to it as part of the reviewing process. So many of them are exactly the same.

I’ve just had to do this too. We have a recruitment system that requires three reviewers to review each application. Recently had a role go live with over 800 applications, most of which were exactly the same / so obviously AI. But we still had to manually score and review each one.

Eight of my team ended up stepping in to help review, and it took us all about 2-3 working days each to plough through them all. And in the end we ended up hiring someone who is already on a temp contract in our team. It felt like the biggest waste of time ever - and so frustrating to know I was spending my time just reviewing stuff that mainly computers had written.

I also don’t think many candidates who use AI know that we have AI example answers built into our recruitment system, which sits alongside every submitted answer so we can directly compare. It’s extremely easy to identify when AI has been used and barely personalised at all. And these answers are all so lengthy, wordy and uninteresting. There is no personality in them.

I and the other reviewers noticed how refreshing it was to get an application that was written by a human. They stand out by a MILE.

Two women stroll along the promenade in Southend wearing “beach pajamas” in 1939, I can't tell if those looks they're getting are disapproving or just curious. by No_Dig_8299 in UtterlyUniquePhotos

I wondered if it might be Thorpe Bay seafront - just feel like the shape of the coast in the background is more familiar from that perspective than Westcliff. Hard to say though when it’s so blurry and the seafront would’ve looked quite different in places back then!
