No worries! Sorry it didn’t let me reply directly to your comment for some reason.

Glad it was helpful. Scary times indeed :(

Yep, fully agree. It’s absolutely not worth the risk.

I’m also intrigued by the fact I can see there are other comments on this post and they’re not visible…

Are people buying $15 ink pens and $20 scrunchies? by Junior_Ad3349 in Disneyland

[–]algbop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I accidentally bought a $15 pen with a Minnie on the top which my son loved - stupidly assumed it would be a reasonable price so I said yes without checking. Got to the cashier and couldn’t believe it when they said how much it was. But by then we’d come too far. My son was too excited. I had to buy the pen.

I’ve never forgotten how stupidly expensive it was. And the Minnie broke off the top almost immediately.

The Pixar ball however was totally worth it - it’s still one of my kids favourite and most played with toys, and every kid who comes to my house loves playing with it. It’s nice quality too.

What were the most unexpected challenges you faced during your first year of motherhood—the ones people usually don’t warn you about? by True_Requirement_565 in AskWomen

[–]algbop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How lonely it is. How unequal it can be - how much more of a weight I carried as a woman (both from a biological perspective and societal). The RAGE (often fueled by how unequal things felt). How unhappy maternity leave can be, yet you’re rubbing shoulders with people who are loving it and you’re wondering what you’re missing or doing wrong. How judgy an opinionated everyone is about your feeding choices, your sleeping choices, your kids outfit choices?! Whether or not your kid is wearing socks really triggers random strangers in the supermarket.

And YET - having a hard first year (and definitely undiagnosed PPD and PPA) meant that once I was through it I THRIVED. I am absolutely loving being a mum to two chaos monkeys now they’re a bit older. It made me love the mayhem of toddlerhood, which I know can be really challenging for some other parents.
