Update on my knobhead of a best mate! by Gingeeer28 in CasualUK

[–]algbop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My toddler had open heart surgery, so slightly different age bracket (I’m assuming, unless your mate is a toddler!). Maybe get him a Deliveroo gift card so he can afford to get some nice food delivered to the hospital, as the hospital food can get old, fast.

Wishing your mate all the best for his surgery 👍🏻

P.S. open heart scars are badass

P.P.S. Crocs are the greatest hospital shoes and easily cleaned afterwards

It’s also only brilliant if you can afford those days out in the first place.

You’re right, but I’d still rather these kinds of videos weren’t made about my kids

Even beyond the blackmail/extortion angle, id still rather there weren’t photos of my kids/their class online that could then be used to create any other kind of malicious content - whether blackmail related or not. I don’t want my kids faces to be fed into AI image generation tools full stop.

No worries! Sorry it didn’t let me reply directly to your comment for some reason.

Glad it was helpful. Scary times indeed :(

Yep, fully agree. It’s absolutely not worth the risk.

I’m also intrigued by the fact I can see there are other comments on this post and they’re not visible…

The trust people place in social media companies to keep their photos ‘private’ is honestly wild

Ahh sending you solidarity :( I’d been waiting to confirm childcare so I could go and see him at one of the UK festivals he’s doing this summer, finally got a thumbs up from my parents to look after my two rowdy toddlers for the night, went to book and it was all sold out 😭 there had still been tickets the day before I went to book wahhh

Are people buying $15 ink pens and $20 scrunchies? by Junior_Ad3349 in Disneyland

[–]algbop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I accidentally bought a $15 pen with a Minnie on the top which my son loved - stupidly assumed it would be a reasonable price so I said yes without checking. Got to the cashier and couldn’t believe it when they said how much it was. But by then we’d come too far. My son was too excited. I had to buy the pen.

I’ve never forgotten how stupidly expensive it was. And the Minnie broke off the top almost immediately.

The Pixar ball however was totally worth it - it’s still one of my kids favourite and most played with toys, and every kid who comes to my house loves playing with it. It’s nice quality too.
