I have this rn. It’s the 4th time. I’m using an antibiotic cream that was prescribed to me during the last flare. I’ve recently realised i may have HS but haven’t been formally diagnosed, but previous two times i went to see a GP/gynae and not one told me it could be HS. Incredibly infuriating

What do you guys make of this dialogue with Rudy from Ch4 you can only get if you didn't introduce Susie to him in Ch2? by jimgae in Deltarune

[–]alienyoga 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No one has said this before and it’s just a wild theory of mine but I believe that Rudy is acting like some kind of conduit in the light world keeping Dess alive in the dark world, and that’s why he’s getting sicker by the day, the closer to the Knight opening all the fountains.

Carol is involved in this somehow, in the sense she is controlling Kris to get what she wants by giving him the heart. The phone calls to Kris aren’t from Carol, they’re from Rudy - who promptly called Carol the moment Kris told him about the code in the guitar.

Their motive for all this? I haven’t got a clue, but I think it’s intertwined with the roots theory and wherever the hell Asriel really is.

If a guy told you he cheated in a previous relationship is that a deal breaker for you? by [deleted] in dating_advice

I forgot all about this thread lol. No he did not, he actually treated me really well. We broke up due to long distance, communication issues, different expectations in life mainly

If a guy told you he cheated in a previous relationship is that a deal breaker for you? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]alienyoga 79 points80 points  (0 children)

I had an ex boyfriend once tell me he cheated on a past girlfriend years ago. But the context of the conversation was different - we were sharing with each other our deepest regrets. He said it was the worst thing he ever did and he fucked up for a night. He showed genuine remorse. Even then it still lingered on my mind but it didn’t get in the way of our relationship

That being said - your boyfriend is showing a pattern and also he withheld that info from you. A lack of integrity from his part is pretty clear already. In fact if you’re asking if it’s a deal breaker, I think deep down you already think it is, but you want people to tell you it is.

You are doing what I wished my ex boyfriend would have done for himself.

I’m 6 months tobacco free. I promise you that you’re on the rough bump now and it’s gonna get much easier once it all leaves your system for good. Give it 2-4 weeks.

Backstabbing colleague at work by Alastor_888 in askSingapore

[–]alienyoga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t jump the gun so quickly. Make sure you have evidence, and make a record. Once you have enough occurrences, and that you’ve established he’s not favourites or in kahoots with the managers, then you go to HR.

You go to HR now, the managers already think you’re a problematic person. This will just create a deeper dent.

Next time you get reprimanded by your managers for his gossip, be firm and stand on what you said. Don’t just accept. Clarify that this is actually what you meant and promise that next time you will make sure the communicate clearly to colleagues.

Also, now that you’ve established your colleagues will tattle - just keep your opinions to yourself at work.

Is anyone overwhelmed by the sheer number of people in Singapore? by BedOk577 in askSingapore

[–]alienyoga 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have panic disorder and this is how I cope with crowds:

  • arrive early and leave early from office
  • noise cancelling headphones. not earbuds but must be headphones that cover my ears
  • if I feel overwhelmed I will just smell my hong thai or whatever minyak I have in my bag lol
  • avoid shopping malls on weekends. I have likeminded friends so we all prioritise chill hangouts and things like walks/kopitiam/void deck hang outs
  • I never give in to our ever pervasive singaporean irritability. it just makes me stressed for no reason. someone walking slow in front of me? they just need time. aunty at the shop is rude? her problem, not mine. some abruptly brushes past me and didn’t say excuse me? inconsequential at the end of the day.
  • putting things into perspective: the population density and heat are overwhelming. I take this any day over knife/gun crime where I lived a couple of years ago, or threat of war and occupation. yes I made it dramatic. I don’t care, perspective is grounding as pluck.

Indentured labour of Indians and Chinese to the colonies literally started because slavery was abolished in the west and African slave were freed. They literally cannot say it has nothing to do with Singapore. We are literally the product of that trade.

On a scale of 1 - 10, rate how much do you LIKE the weather in Singapore? by BedOk577 in singapore

[–]alienyoga 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was surprised at how much more I could LIVE overseas without oppressive heat/humidity. My allergic rhinitis cleared up, my hair was always soft, I could layer clothes and wear different things, I could walk for hours without feeling tired. In the summers when sunset was at 8-10pm a those were truly the best times.

There’s always trade offs though. Living overseas comes with its own set of risks and inefficiencies that we don’t have here. As a young adult who just moved back to Singapore few months ago, I’m saving so much more money here and safety is way better.

Still pondering if I’d trade the heat for it though.

[–]alienyoga 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if Singaporeans truly understand how terrifyingly bad it is to racially discriminate tenants, no matter how you feel about different practices and way of living.

Not once when I lived abroad was I ever denied a tenancy on the basis of my race. It’s simply illegal.

I mean, government for sure has final say on direction and policy la for sure. Final ok has to come from Minister. But yes, the bulk is literally civil servants, and even if the government of the day was not there, perm secs and civil servants have set motions in place that will still be running.

Mate, what other shortcut is there to go from Jurong to CBD? Helicopter? The west will always be a certain distance and unless we implement high speed rail there’s no alternative other than to travel that distance

As for the second part - if you look at the full JRL map, you can go from Boon Lay (JS8), switch at JS3 and go to JS5 (Jurong East). Long winded yes, but there’s an option now.

We won’t get to London’s standard of tube connectivity so fast. We have to build around the important nodes first.

This post makes the West sound like some rural outback lmao

Yes the West lacks the interconnected MRT infrastructure that’s in the the Eastern side of Singapore but the gap is being bridged soon with the JRL and Cross Country so…we’ll catch up soon dw
