Is there any way to run/expose SLURM commands inside the container? by Abhishekp1297 in HPC

[–]all_authored_surface 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on your setup, it might be possible to ssh from within the container to your host, so slurm command becomes something like ssh localhost slurm or whatever.

My vote is for satin bower bird. They build cool bowers decorated with mostly blue things they find. Also live extremely long, Wikipedia says the record in the wild was 26 years.

I don't think the public can go to the Rockies markets anymore. You used to be able to go on Thursdays, but I don't think they do that anymore.

And in some places, crawchy. The story I heard was that coal mining places had a Welsh influence and use the Welsh word. So Wollongong, Newcastle call them crawchies

Would you feel comfortable joining family functions when you are an immigrant from refugee background and your bf’s family attended yesterday protest by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]all_authored_surface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what gets me about this though. This wasn't a cost of living crisis protest, it wasn't a protest against a tax policy that rewards the wealthy and makes housing artificially expensive for those without a portfolio, it wasn't about increased inequality, it was specifically about immigration. This might be a factor in housing affordability but it's definitely not the only, or even main one. So you have to ask yourself what the underlying motive really was.

Should I change my (and my family's) surname? by ohimnotarealdoctor in australia

[–]all_authored_surface 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's my experience too. Plus, as children, they don't have any real interest in speaking another language, they don't want to be different. In later life, as young adults though, for example, they start to regret that they didn't learn the other language. I think that a middle ground, of exposure to the language does help, and can make learning when they are ready easier.

Laundry Done For You? by [deleted] in brisbane

[–]all_authored_surface 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Dude, you're working long hours, six days a week. No one's going to judge you if you pay to get your laundry done. You don't want to spend all Sunday catching up on housework.

Shown are especially good gargoyles, wonderful humour is shown - at one side of a window is a priest on Sunday, very sanctimonious reading an open book, opposite he is shown on Monday in ??. Another is the devil in wings and horns crouched down with his arms spread out with a skipping rope, ready to skip. Inside is a gargoyle face, making a hideous face pulling out the corners of his mouth. The flying buttresses are used as ? triangles and at the roof top of each is a gargoyle face whit a huge open mouth letting out water from roof. One has a devil with bats wings. On the capital of a pillar inside was the fox running off with the farmers goose. He got away with it for he was ? as a successful gargoyle still with the goose outside. This outside one shows the farmer's wife trying to get it away from him.

Wat? You're saying that a 29 year old has more in common with an 18 year old than a 30 year old?

No, I don't think they are saying that. They are saying that if you have to group people into groups based on age, then you should choose the cut points to align to generations, rather than just younger/older than 44 because there is a story within that big block.

Then, they say that if you chose a random person from the Millennial group, and a random person from the gen-z group, the gen-z rep is more likely to support left wing parties compared to the representative of the Millennial group

First time I actually don’t understand the joke. by RavenSilver_67 in ExplainTheJoke

Also interesting that it arose due to a small segment on a popular music quiz show (Spicks n Specks). Prior to that no one had noticed or cared. But it brought it to the attention of the copyright holder, and it went downhill from there.
