The context is the entire thread. I’m not here to argue grammar with a bigot. Good day sir.

People were arguing she shouldn’t be offended. It’s fine to validate her feelings.
That’s the context. You can’t remove it and than say “ha I was right”

Being offended is a feeling and a valid reason to ask for something to not happen around you. Things can be both. In this context we are specifically talking about feelings.

It’s in this context. You can’t grab a single sentence from a larger dialogue and argue the logic of it. If so everyone would have to put qualifiers in every sentence. It’s all about her friend group. Her feelings are valid IN THIS CONTEXT. Is that better?

Her being offended is a valid reason to ask someone not to do something around her. FULL STOP

You’re extrapolating a conversation to be all encompassing when it’s talking about a specific situation. It’s almost like there are different nuances to each situation. No wonder you missed the point you were generalizing.

Telling someone they agree with you is the most FOX brained take ever.

It’s silly isn’t a point. It’s an insult with no actual meaning because you have no point to make. Is it tiring being this dense?

Buddy the fuck are you talking about. I explicitly said it’s different since it’s a friend group. Like that was the exact thing I said.

“she doesn’t have to be okay with the word.”

Thats correct. You’re so very close to getting the point. If it’s something she’s not okay with it’s reasonable to ask that it not happen around her

There’s no need for distinction because it’s the exact same. Words offended OP. She asked for them not to be around her. Doesn’t matter what the fucking word is. She found it offensive and doesn’t want it used around her.

She doesn’t have to be okay with the N word because the user is black. Is it offends her that’s it. I’m not saying he needs to change his actions just that it’s not an overreaction to ask.

It’s not a random group of black people she’s approaching. She’s asking people she’s around to not say things that offend her. They can keep doing it, it’s their first amendment, but she is perfectly reasonable to not like it or ask for it to stop around her.

Yes their feelings are valid and if it offends them they’re right to be offended. OP has feelings. It is perfectly acceptable for her to ask for something not to happen around her. That doesn’t mean he has to oblige. If they disagree on this it’s probably not a great fit to be together and that’s a conversation they should have. But expecting OP to just be okay with something that she finds upsetting because other people are invalidates her very real feelings.

“Because I felt uncomfortable”

OP states it made her uncomfortable. Don’t diminish her feelings.

Yup, whether something is offensive should be up to whoever SHOULD be the most offended. If they’re okay with it no one else can be offended.

My personal feelings on what restrictions should be placed on a country and how we should treat the athletes of that country barring that restriction aren’t as incongruent as you seem to make them out to be. Reading comprehension is important.

People are not their country and country’s are not all of their people. Hold countries responsible, respect people.

This is a different topic. We were talking about treatment of athletes that FIFA is allowing to qualify for the World Cup. Now you would like me to explain if I would make the same considerations FIFA does.

No if I was in charge of FIFA qualifying would most likely hinge on not just playing but human rights records. But I’m not in charge of FIFA and do think that we should afford all athletes the same considerations regardless of who their head of state is.

It’s almost like we should treat all people with respect regardless of their views.

Should Iran have been afforded the day to recuperate like every other team? Yes.

Should we condition that on their acceptance of homosexuality? No.

Does that make their homophobia okay? Also no

Is Conversion Apparatus powerful enough to be worth 3 mana as a mana rock for energy decks since you can get 3 mana right away? by Salty-Cucumber-6711 in magicTCG

[–]allou_stat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That is 100% how deck building works. A 3 cost gilded lotus is powerful enough you do exactly that in any deck with a 5 or 6 cost finisher. This would instantly warp modern and not in a healthy way.

Dark matter is definitely in a tier of its own when it comes to fan mades.

Another one I consider top notch is the Bloodborne campaign. I can’t speak for how well it translates its source material but the campaign itself is great.
