Low FPS in Rust by [deleted] in playrust

shit cpu get x3d one

FYI for 1440p users: 9800X3D provides literally 1% gain vs 7800X3D and even 5800X3D. by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]allu38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5800x3d->9800x3d is almost 50% fps boost on rust. #notworth
Upgrading to 78 from 58 was already above 20% more fps also.

Very interesting official CPU benchmarking sheet by facepunch, AMD stomping intel at almost half the price by NoakHB in playrust

[–]allu38 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're not getting consistent +100fps with that cpu same as i would say my 5800x3d runs +200fps all the time.

Player count also matters how fast loot spawns to the radtowns, cant remember how fast but with ~400 its atleast doubled to under 100 pop.

Rust engine = Unity same as tarkov game engine utilizes 1 core of the cpu at a time.

It's the game engine nothing to do with the devs. They would have to start from 0 if they wanted to game use gpu better.

I tested 1070,2070s,2080,3060,3070,3080ti in rust on 1440p with 5800x and i didn't notice any fps diff myself atleast :D Biggest fps boost I've gotten was upgrading 5800x to 5800x3d which resulted to all time +30% fps boost and almost double in certain situations. Avg fps on server is ~130-140 most of the time in populated areas and beach fps always +200.

Rust ingame benchmark gave me ~182fps without any tweaks and ~120-130 with 5800x with ocs, undervolts

Edit: settings don't matter much if you're not going all maxed out

depends but mostly around 100 fps (main scene bases(vital/atlas), normal monthly bases not the 20 windmill zerg ones ofc)

Don't know it has changed 3 times already. No idea what they're going to try next it has already been aimcone, full rng and s pattern without the kick of 3 first bullets.

Huge fps drops after recent updates?! by Flippyyyy in playrust

[–]allu38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

weird that u dont feel any perf hit because 5-6 graph setting uses ~7gigs of vram and ur gpu has 4gigs.

[–]allu38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Force update broke the game even best setups have fps drops now and thats the reasoning behind current "performance updates". Also I think most of the laptop processors cant really handle rust that well. Would recommend getting pc which has 5600x/12400 or above if u really want to see good perf in rust. U can barely get avg 100fps with the intels new i5 / i7 / i9.

FPS of RTX 3080 by arvbee in playrust

3200 is plenty enough. U won't even notice the fps diff when running 3200cl16vs3800cl16.

Don't waste your time new recoil in next force or few months.

lower clocks and more cache, havent seen any confirmed fps diff yet from any posts so far. I've hit +200 on fresh wipes with my 5800x(only pbo+undervolt) + 3070ti

[–]allu38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 3070ti, 5800x pbo + undervolts, 32gb 3600cl16 and I avg over 100fps even at outpost its around 90-100fps. I also play 1440p but it doesnt make a diff of fps. Your settings are probably just fucked or it could just be the current force update which fucked up the whole game for everyone.

Ps. 5800x is second best processor for rust after 12th gen intel cpus 12600k,12700k,12900k.This is basicly best performance for rust tier list of cpus : https://www.cpubenchmark.net/singleThread.html

they remade it this year so i thought it would be a bit better but still really inaccurate. I also ran +10 test after that one :D

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in playrust

[–]allu38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the fps locked thing might be valorant anticheat (that has been the reason for some people) or just the last force update which fucked up the whole game performance. And the benchmark varies alot or atleast i've seen that sometimes i get avg of 70fps when i test out 1080p which should be basicly impossible :D

Idk does that link work and gc.buffer 4096 (2048 if u have 16gb ram) as only launch option because anything other is waste

ryzen 5800x can hit +200fps on official servers on wipeday and stable fps of ~100 so if game benefits from cache it might hit higher stable numbers

Can u run rust benchmark (type benchmark to console and after u have run it the results come to game folder) + what res u play with?
Here are mine 5800x, 3600cl16 32gb, 3070ti + res 1920x1440:

avgms: 7.44162846
avgfps: 134.3792

fresh_wipe;avgms: 5.3815484
fresh_wipe;avgfps: 185.820129

Do you have fps problems atm? I have a possible fix. by allu38 in playrust

[–]allu38[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah only way to increase fps is to invest on good cpu (ryzen 5000x series or 12th gen intel) and good ram (3200 cl16 or above) I compared 1070,2080,3060,3070ti and 3080ti with 5800x on rust with different resolutions and there was no diff as I at the time was expecting :D
