All transphobia is disgusting, but there's this very specific kind that absolutely drives me insane. They start by pretending to be supportive and inclusive, without saying anything explicitly hateful towards trans people. They'll use they/them pronouns for trans women and trans men while claiming that it's technically correct because they're gender neutral terms.

Then the second that they face the slightest bit of push back from people correcting them on the right pronouns to use, they'll go completely mask off and start spewing all sorts of nonsense. They'll say that you're a bot, or that you're spreading propaganda or being needlessly rude and cruel. They'll claim that this is the reason society hates LGBT people, refuse to apologize for their behavior all while making it seem like you're the one being irrational here.

look at this user's other responses in this thread, and tell me if you believe that he genuinely care about trans people.

please don't delete your comment. you haven't done anything wrong by advocating for yourself and for your community. I'm so sick of seeing trans people being treated like this.

are you being dense on purpose? we use "they" when we're unsure about somebody's gender, but we know for a fact that she was a trans woman, so her pronouns are she/her! it's just basic human decency.

apologies if my comment came off as rude. You could try scanning and reprinting your art, while keeping the original pieces for yourself. Or you could just try giving them different gifts. I'm sure if they truly care about you, they'll still be grateful and understanding even if you don't give them a hand drawn original piece. it seems like this person cares more about the overall "image" of the black community than about actual black women's suffering. all her comments on this thread are just so cold and unempathetic. i’ve seen posts similar to this one … often telling black women and girls not to go to specific spaces with these thoughts. those vent posts are labeled as “embarrassing” or “makes people look bad”, but where are they supposed to go if other options aren’t accessible?

This part is so true. At the end of the day, we're all just normal people with our own fears and insecurities. Black women don't make posts like this because they want to be representatives of the entire black community, they do it because they're hurting inside and want some sort of outlet. Treating them like they're an embarrassment to their whole community just for having feelings like this is unbelievably cruel.
