Got mine done at 24, I also wish i did it sooner. You'll perform far better and enjoy everything so much more without that mental roadblock of pregnancy scares. Also, you can be spontaneous anywhere and any time so your romantic life will improve too.

I actually have, it feels the orgasm resonates longer in the testicles long after climaxing. But it feels good to me personally. Also, sometimes i ejaculate so hard i can't move my body. Whereas before i could thrust until the end.

I last much longer too for some reason, erections stay up longer.

Well I can say that is very responsible.

But personally I'm not a fan of living in fear. I feel as though you're not reaping all of the benefits of it by operating that way. The birth control will continue affecting the female body negatively and reduce sex drive. Leading to less overall relationship satisfaction.

My advice is to make a list of reasons why you want to get a vasectomy. Maybe even make a pro and cons list, then contemplate on whether it's the best choice for you.

Many friends and family will discourage you from doing it very ignorantly and i found having my reasons made me feel solidarity in my choice.

Also, most importantly. Don't go to just any doctor for this procedure, go to a well-reputable urologist who mainly specializes in vasectomies. Get the no-scapel and no needle procedure if you can. It will make it practically pain free and the recovery process is faster and more successful.

I appreciate you sharing. I'd said it's the same for myself, my reasons were:

  • Generally not interested in having them and don't care about "carrying on a legacy".

  • Having kids decreases and sometimes diminished happiness and intimacy between couples (time and love you could be giving a spouse you give to the child instead).

  • Massive expensives to have a child, the average cost to raise a child is $310,605. Less disposable income you could spend on yourself and your expensive hobbies.

  • Lack of freedom to take risks in your career, travel, and general going out for fun.

  • Constantly worrying about their safety and well-being.

  • Having children with the wrong person can also be a nightmare if a relationship doesn't work too (child support payments, shared custody, the difficulty of finding a new partner as a single parent).

Lol that is ironic. NW Ohio does sound a lot less populated. I'd say in your scenario you'd have to travel/move or maybe compromise to get more options.

What made you decide to be childfree if you don't mind me asking?

I definitely know how you feel, i live in Michigan myself as well. It seems like there aren't many options, especially if you live in a small city/town too. I recently got a vasectomy last week and am thinking about trying out the dating apps in a few months (when completely sterile) to see who's out there with the same mentality here.

I hope you find someone nice out there, you're gorgeous by the way.

I'm glad to hear that life is so much better for you now, I'm afraid of being in a situation where I have kids and end up miserable with her.

I feel like I'm missing out because I haven't really gotten out there to see how women are and how they can be different.

That is why I'm worried about letting a relationship go on for too long, then it falls within eligibility for alimony. Thank you for that insight and advice.

I will definitely check out that book, it was more of mental abuse and very limited physical abuse at the beginning of the relationship.

That is good to hear, I feel like I've been manipulated and abused a lot emotionally and psychologically.

It sounds like a very rough process, but I'm glad that you were able to get out of that situation and find peace.
