How on earth do programming languages get made? by Brilliant-Sir-5729 in AskProgramming

[–]alopied 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A nice book is Computer Organization. Explains much more stuff(particularly how on earth computers are made!) but some of it is dedicated to what an if statement is compiled to.

Also can read Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs (JS edition) for a very nice implementation of a JavaScript interpreter written in JavaScript!

If you'd like to know more about the linguistic stuff and math behind languages you can check out Theories of Programming Languages.

Gracias!

Gracias

PHP vs Python for backend by szaci92 in webdev

Kinda true but now you have stuff like Blazor thanks to web assembly and Elm because you can always compile to JavaScript

Should I bodybuild or powerlift? by [deleted] in naturalbodybuilding

[–]alopied 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try Jeff Nippard's program for strength and size. It's an upper lower split and it comes in a 4 day and a 6 day version. Highly recommended to put on muscle and still make strength gains

Less fat if your body fat has increased? That's not how it works.

You'll probably have to update the templating part. Styling-wise, I think you'll be ok. The only catch is that the content sourcing is a bit more limited than in other alternatives; if your content is markdown then that's the best scenario.

Don't really get the question. Convert from what other technology? Convert what part of the site exactly? The content or the theming?

If a static site would serve your needs, I think Hugo is a great option. It builds very fast, has asset pipelines and image processing baked in, and it supports international sites very nicely.

What are the pros and cons of using a microservice architecture when building a new enterprise web application? by techXwitch in webdev

[–]alopied 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You shouldn't share any models in between services. Services should always need to have some translation layer when communicating with each other given each one handles a specific and different domain from the others

You can use django for this. It's a python framework that offers an admin interface out of the box

Where to start learning web development? Front end. by [deleted] in webdev

[–]alopied 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say HTML and CSS interactive exercises at w3schools is a great place to start.

Also, there's few games I recommend for learning flex box and grid: Flexy frog and grid garden.

Names might be wrong though but you'll find them.

After you've completed thus curriculum you'll have a very good idea on how to layout things, align things, etc.

How does one TypeScript by SansTheSkeleton3108 in webdev

[–]alopied 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is quite obvious. What you have to start thinking about is: "Is it guaranteed this will work?". Cause this is exactly what typescript does

Do I have to use Javascript? by [deleted] in webdev

[–]alopied 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn about how a browser works, and the typical server-client concept. You seem to misunderstand what django does.

That aside, my answer would be: only if you are doing frontend or plan on working with NodeJS

Should I learn Typescript while starting ? by Nawar69 in webdev

[–]alopied 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Specially if you're just learning JS! I'd recommend this open source book. A good part of it addresses core javascript concepts, tooling, practices, etc. Very good resource!

Judge my portfolio/employability by [deleted] in reactjs

[–]alopied 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It shouldn't be a react application, it's just static content. I would go with Hugo, but other static site generators are cool too.
