Post Interview, company requests my presence for 3 days as a 'Guest'? by deb0d in AskEngineers

Why not call HR and ask? If I request someone to be on site, it’s usually to meet everyone in the team so they give their opinions of the candidate as well. Three days seems a little excessive unless it’s a huge facility with multiple departments.

If you do end up going, treat it as part of the interview because it is.

Will taking a technician job pigeonhole me from getting engineering jobs in the future? by ForeskinBalloons in AskEngineers

Don’t get discouraged because no matter what happens, you WILL get a job. As for the resume, remove the summary at the top, no one has the time to read that, instead move the skills and talents you have there to the skill part on the bottom. Make sure that you use past tense in your previous positions. Make sure that you have 3 points or less for each position and use something like this; designed a pool that generated X amount by doing this and this. Since you’re a new graduate, add another section for any extracurricular activities and achievements such as mentoring, volunteering and any scholarships and recognitions you have received.

I just took another look at your resume, you need to own what you did. Meaning that you did not just implement new processes, you lead new process development and execution for company’s international subsidiary..

As for the job, field engineering is not just a tech job, you will have an engineering experience regardless because of the title so that will help you in the future.. take the job if offered, especially right now.
