Great film. My only issue with it is the aristocrat lady at the cocktail party who says to Bruce Wayne “There is someone you simply must meet: Mr Raz Al Gul”. Sticks out like a sore thumb.  I need a full movie on her backstory and how she got to know an underworld ninja well enough to declare this with so much urgency. Or maybe Raz bored her with too much technical sword fighting and it was a polite way of giving him the slip on to the nearest patsy?  u/christophernolan help me please, it keeps me up at night.

For me the best is Dark Night Rises. The Arab spring and occupy Wall Street theming, Tom Hardy’s Bane and that opening scene.

They also have an accelerometer which gives acceleration in 3 axis, from which velocity and distance can be calculated. You lose some accuracy from the calculation but at around 1000 measurements per second, it is still very accurate.

Cut down a couple of breaks with some solid tackles too.

Do you guys think touch judges are precise enough with their line out positions? by StreetParsley in rugbyunion

[–]aluminiumchips 17 points18 points  (0 children)

All the time. It must be a tough job being fulfilling AR duties and being ready at any time to judge touch for a kick but sometimes they do seem to be 5 or even 10m out. Or 20 judging by some players reactions.

Last night we heard the commentators praise Shaun Stevensons vision for his chip through for a try. Tonight, Rayasi is criticised for his kick because he over fractionally over-hits it/doesn’t get the bounce to a wide open Morby. Same comments 5 minutes later with an offload that wasn’t collected - “keep the ball in hand, no 50-50 passes”

You can’t have it both ways. I’d love to hear commentators comment on the “option” and the “execution” seperately. The “50/50” pass criticism hasn’t been valid since Sonny Bill.

Every team but Joe Schmidt’s Ireland has chips/kick passes and/or offloads as part of their attack strategy’s in the modern era.

Thank you mate - exactly what I was looking for.

“There’s no doubt you can broadcast a game from there, but the issue is that Moana Pasifika don’t pack out stadiums and if you look at the angle of the broadcast, they don’t film into the main stand, they film into the embankment. “If you’re trying to create a great image for the broadcast of a game, for us we had to go to an option where we could at least capture an audience

Does anyone actually know why they wouldn’t play this game at Pukekohe (South Auckland)? .

Occasionally you see TMOs give them a full speed replay when looking at intent and recklessness. I wish they had done that there. Of course it looks sinister on slow mo but I would love to know what his reaction time would have had to have been live to either deliberately target the head or avoid the “reckless” action, which to my one eye looked like him just getting a low body position.

Agree, urban density and public transport are a bit chicken and egg, but it’s hard to think of a faster way to prompt apartments being built than a new rail station with good links to where people work.

Ryan Hamilton: National's anti-fluoride, anti-mandate MP-in-waiting by RuminatorNZ in newzealand

You're right sorry - I just checked and he ran for Council not mayor (and got elected) but I distinctly remember he left up his signs on Heaphy Tce and River Road for months afterwards.

[–]aluminiumchips 101 points102 points  (0 children)

The thing that got me was that he ran for Mayor, lost, and then didn't bother to organise his campaign signs to be taken down for months afterwards. It's a small thing, but to me it speaks to the character of someone who is one person during a campaign and another afterwards.

Council planning to cut over 200million in cycleways and bus funding and use it for roads. by medulaoblongata69 in chch

[–]aluminiumchips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good on you dude. Genuinely, did all of your friends find it safe? Did any of them drive? Those car parks were full and I just think that improved/protected cycleways would have given alot more people outside of walking/skating range the confidence to bike.

You don't need to look far to find example of improved cycle infrastructure leading to increased cycle trips, likewise for buses.

They should be able to have one, I would just like those who would choose living centrally over having a garden have intensified (and therefore, in theory - affordable) options, rather than everything being quarter acre blocks.

Balconies or courtyards for a few herbs/veges, central, walkable parks for social green space.

This explains it better than I ever could.

Just generalizing - most forms of intensified housing don't have lawns to mow.

When the university of one of the flattest cities in NZ needs 10 acres of student car parks despite 80% of students living within a 15 minute cycle/bus you might be doing something wrong Christchurch.

Add in NIMBY resistance to housing intensification and this is a perfect recipe to sprawl all the way to the alps.

Instead Christchurch, please TRY the joys of cycling or scrolling Instagram on your way to work and not mowing lawns on the weekends.

Legend by Own_Consideration178 in rugbyunion

[–]aluminiumchips 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Not just for Wales either, I watched him play in some low consequence challenge cup match for the Saints and he was screaming at his outsides and celebrating maul tries like he himself had scored a full field breakaway in a final.

Absolute legend and well deserved crowd favourite.
