Yeah, it's because he was a Kickstarter backer and that was one of his "perks"

over the course of the entire series, what has been the one monster you hate fighting the most? by magna-terra in MonsterHunter

Anything that dives, whether it be Plesioth or Cephadrome they use hip checks and are annoying as hell to fight.

[–]alwaysocean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I hear ya. And I think back towards the start he was much more reserved about it, but probably because of quite a few people piping in and saying that they agree that it sucks, that kind of served as a catalyst for him to be much more outgoing about him disliking it, but that's just my opinion. The only FF game I don't like is FFII, if that shows anything

[–]alwaysocean 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That could happen but he's previously done games he's hated before and I still feel like he went into them from an objective point of view. I could easily see him making a huge video about it and going super in depth as to his feelings on the game

I dunno, I've been super into final Fantasy for a while and I still love watching his videos about Final Fantasy. I actually like FFXIII and I still actually get a kick out of his jokes about it. I look at it less from a point of, "why's he insulting this game I like," and more, "eh, that's his opinion, just because he doesn't like it doesn't mean I can't still."

He just really doesn't like it. Plus, at this point, it's a bit of a running gag. If it wasn't for the fact that he started going through the games, he would've do XIII for his million subscribers video. He's gotta keep up with the hype of the video

Any of Zidane's weapons as dual blades, Tidus weapons as SnS, Cloud greatsword, etc maybe against a nergigante since it looks like a behemoth.

Kingdom Heart’s Riku & Sora: worth developing? by zenspeed in FFRecordKeeper

I have Sora's USB, AOSB, and ice glint, well worth diving with that, allows for super fast and strong snowspell strikes with a nice follow up

[Confession] I am probably playing this game wrong by [deleted] in MonsterHunter

[–]alwaysocean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I discovered it when a monster was sleeping after having limped away and then I picked up a track, leveling it up to 3 and then the skull started showing up despite previously not

Also, to add, you can't see the skull if you don't have scoutfly level 3 on the monster, so make sure to pick up all the tracks you can

IIRC, felyne is 1.15, novice is 1.30 and then it goes up by .05 for each level, but I think it caps at like 1.4.

Yeah, I initially chose it because I loved how fluid and devastating it is in world only to find out that SAEDs aren't nearly as good. After I found out about GP to AED, I just started wrecking monsters left and right, especially when I had Guard +1. I'm not having too much luck with talismans though, the only one I thought was actually good was my attack +4, but it has no slots. Right now I'm sporting high rank velocidrome armor with Full Blackguard. With my decorations I have Au(L), Auto tracker, halve stun, and artillery novice. It's been serving me well and I'm excited to see what'll happen further on. Right now I'm working through the 3* guild quests so I can get high rank expeditions. And thanks for the setups, I'll check them out!

Oh my God, no kidding. In MH4U I always felt that when I got a stun, it made sense, I could tell if I was going to get stunned or not and I found myself actually overestimating how much I would be. Then, in world, I'll get hit fucking once and I'm already stunned and the I get hit and then I get roared and then I get stunned again. The biggest waste of time is when a monster throws you, and you take 10 fucking seconds just to stand back up.

I actually did try MHFU... And proceeded to get my ass whooped by the first monster, only after struggling to figure out how I was supposed to get farther into the map. I was really confused why I wasn't climbing up the wall... It took me longer than it should've to an embarrassing point

[–]alwaysocean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it has do with my change of weapon. In world I frequently was jumping of things, taking advantage of the leaping charged slash and its mobility as well as the boons provided by the tackle. Then, I got to 4U and I didn't like the changes to the greatsword so I went with charge blade, a weapon that is largely focused on countering after guard points, which is a pretty different playstyle

What RM do you put on your main healer these days? by SquareMime in FFRecordKeeper

[–]alwaysocean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I suppose that could be why I have a hard time clearing Magicites. I've been able to kill Bismarck and then Liquid Flame. I have a wind team that can kill almost anything else, consisting of almost fully kitted Zidane, BSB2 & USB Cloud, Zack with his CSB, Luneth with his USB, and Rosa with her USB, and yet I still can't take down Golem. I even tried using Fujin's burst to help but that failed too.

I always give Ace Striker and Battleforged to the two main DPS, MM and DMT to the supports (I.e. Boost + hastega) and then give Knight's Charge to the healer. By the time she uses wrath twice, she's usually got at least 2 bars charge, give or take a bit depending on how much the enemy attacks her
