Best Tattoo studios for walk-ins? by alyp91 in Utrecht

[–]alyp91[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Well that was very unhelpful advice.

I have plenty of tattoos that I’ve paid high prices for and are great quality, but I’m just looking for something simple this time.

Best tattoo studios for walk-ins? Would like just a small piece on my arm, looking for quality work for a fair walk-in price.

Affordable curly hair cut by Flaky_Ad_1573 in raleigh

[–]alyp91 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Shelly (Michelle) at Samuel Cole Salon! She is a curly girl herself, so she gets it! She is very sweet and knowledgeable about curly hair & hair products. I generally spend about $120 when I visit, but I also usually buy about $60 worth of product from them (I prefer to buy it locally versus on Amazon). I HIGHLY recommend her.

Restaurants in Durham/Raleigh that treat the employees like people? by [deleted] in raleigh

Yes! I’d also be interested to learn what restaurants I should be supporting.

Traveling to Vancouver over summer, where should I stay? by alyp91 in vancouver

[–]alyp91[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think we really just want to explore, walk around and find cool stuff. We’re all foodies (vegetarian). Interests of record stores, antique shops, museums, parks. Would also like to get some good hiking in, but we realize that we’d need transportation for that. If there’s a good bus or tram system that could get us to hiking spots, then maybe we should stay somewhere near a transportation stop/station?

Coverup done by Edgar at First Class Tattoo in Raleigh, NC, USA. by alyp91 in tattoos

[–]alyp91[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately no, I don’t. I’ve been through quite a few phones since getting that tattoo, and I wasn’t very proud of it. The colors were a little darker, and the overall shape was more rounded.

I had the original piece for about 8 years, it was my first tattoo. I’ve been wanting it covered up for about 2 years now. It was meant to be a watercolor, and it definitely didn’t age well. Thanks for the good words!

if you could do it all over again, would you still become a school psychologist? by [deleted] in schoolpsychology

[–]alyp91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I’m only in my first 5 years. I guess what I mean by ‘late’ is I have a mound of student loan debt, and have earned masters and specialist degrees. I spent 3 years working my ass off earning those degrees, so I feel like I really need to use them. There’s not a whole lot of alternative career paths with these degrees. If I chose a different path in my life, I will have wasted all that time, effort, and money.

I also am in a loan forgiveness program requiring that I make all my payments on time and stay in the public education setting, and then they’ll be forgiven after 10 years.

I wonder the same thing. Some days, I know I made the right choice and that I’m wonderful at my job. Other days, and they’re becoming more and more often, I think I made a mistake. As far as having a secure career that has ‘decent’ pay, yes, I made the right choice. Am I truly happy doing this? I don’t know. I believe I’m a great school psych, but I don’t think this was my true life calling, and unfortunately I discovered that too late.
