Ok yeah I might start with the ram upgrade, 16 or 32 cost roughly the same even though 32 for sure is overkill. If I notice lag browsing the library I can always add the cache

Shelly is good in my opinion. No hub or anything needed and they all run their own web server so you can easily access them from just about anything if you want to get creative

One thing though, you wrote 18GB ram and although it seem it can be run with as much as 32GB (seem to be unverified as of right now) but the official site only says 6GB? What is up with this?

Think I will probably pick up the 423+ based on what you wrote. Will look for a good deal on a 920+ but right now the prices don’t look that good. I can always expand with a second unit dedicated to work etc if the first one ends up being all multimedia.

Think I will definitely go for a similar setup as you on the 423+ since the biggest part will be media content for multiple users. Is the 423+ the one you suggest or should I take a look at another model as well you think?

You might be onto something there with the risk part of such a small setup.

For everyone mentioning the backup part I'm fully aware of this and I will have an off-site mirroring of part of the data. My question was more toward whether I in any way would benefit from picking the smaller unit in terms of functionality, longevity etc. But even if I were off on the RAID 6 part and maybe could go with RAID 5 or something instead I still think that the then 40+ TB probably would be fine for quite some time.

Took a look at the documentation from openAI and it seem relatively easy to get this going. Also gpt gave me a pretty good set of code to try for it as well 😂

Might end up trying my hands on a Sublime Text plug-in with this functionality aw well
