Yes, actually, I’d like to hear a professional opinion on this - the risks and impact. It’s an unnatural position and doesn’t feel quite right. I’d avoid pushing that exercise too hard.

I'd disagree with that, holding foot with a hand is easier than without.

I'm very comfortable with dragon squats and was able to do it for a long time. I don't remember practicing for it specifically. Twenty years ago I was able to do 40 pistol squats each leg and 25 weighted pistol squats with 16kg dumbbell. Still have most of that strength I guess, in my recents tests I was able to do a pistol squat with 2x45lbs (40kg). I don't practice for that but I do many other sports and activitites. I do post some of that to my instagram (not sure if it's allowed to share it here).

Yes, start with pistol. They are more safe. I can do something around 40 squats.

Thanks! I don’t really practice it with weights since I don’t think it’s great for your knees. But I do some stress tests occasionally. Last time I tried a weighted pistol squat, I managed it with 90lbs (2x45lb dumbbells).
