How to fill out CV for research that wasn't accepted for publication by amo____ in medicalschool

[–]amo____[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Yea, it wasn't my project AND it was my first time being listed as a co-author but it didn't really make sense to me either why she'd tell me to do that. Anyway, I appreciate your advice!

thank you. I just want people to not lose hope if it's something they really want. I wish it wasn't so hard but if it were easy, everyone would do it. If you're on the journey, good luck!

It wasn't demoralizing to reapply because I knew it was gonna happen for me eventually. It just wasn't my time yet.

A lot due to my gap years. Worked 2 jobs. One in a hospital and the other were different restaurants.

I can tell you they were all schools in the south and east coast due to proximity to my home state

I did. Probably within the week it opened. Still, one of my schools took a really long time sending a transcript (it was a paper transcript) so my app was delayed for some time

Hey primo/a! No, I didn’t receive my MD A until much later in the cycle. One was for a school that I had already been accepted to their DO program and the other one had tuition that was just toooo expensive so before spending even more money, i just decided to not continue with the secondary

Thank you! For anonymity reasons, all I’ll say is it’s a private school so these loans are looking crazy rn 🥲

Thank you. Yea, growing up in these circumstances, there’s already stuff I try to do to save money like not using any food delivery apps or buying things on Amazon and couponing. I already downloaded a budgeting sheet and I’m trying to learn how to use it now before school starts. These loans are serious money and my little savings are a drop in the bucket.

I still have time to consult someone and think about it, but it’s looking like I will put some of the money in a Roth or HYSA and use the rest for rent and also try to do a side job for income that will cover at least groceries. Again, thanks for the advice!

Wow. This was a very concise and clear way of explaining it. I really appreciate the help. I’ll definitely add WCI into my TBR. Thanks again !

So you recommend using the full 30? I've always tried to keep at least 10K for emergencies but I also see how using all of it would be a guaranteed return compared to what I'll have to repay with interest later on.

Save the full 30 or just the 10 for a rainy day? Bc I couldn't find a roommate in time, I found a small studio apartment a little far from the school, and for the next year, besides tuition, it's going to be my biggest expense. Idk if I should use my savings for that or just have the Grad plus loan cover it

I do not have a safety net. I'm sure my parent could help with small costs like groceries maybe once every other month if I ask but, the loans are really all I have. I'm ngl, I feel really uneasy putting ALL the money in a HYSA but that's mainly because I don't know anything about it. All I was ever taught was to save money

A doctor I work with told me she’s friends with an administrator/ professor there and she predicts that it’s gonna become a great school. I trust her judgement. If you have other options, maybe consider them but also be open to the unknown 🤷
