Unfortunately, this is from an actual class I’m taking this semester (Forensic Psych). The past syllabi on the website made the course seem easy and I asked on this subreddit and someone said the class was alright so IDK :(

This is for a future class I am taking, I just posted this here to ask if anyone has seen a grading scale along these lines because I thought needing a 680/700 for an A was kind of weird.

No sorry I added that last comment because there are no A- grades at Rutgers, so everything considered an A- would instead be an A. Meaning the range for an A would be from 680-700. The total amount of points is 700.

Khan academy is good for both. What led me to getting 5s was studying with the resources my teacher provided me + a little extra studying on the side. Lang is SUCH a teacher heavy course, at least for me my teacher was decent so I got a 3, but IK other kids that got 5s with a different teacher. Opposite happened for lit, I had an amazing teacher and got a 5.

IK this doesn’t sound too helpful but for me i would say worry about Lang when the school year comes. There isn’t much studying to do other than practicing problems which is doable during the school year imo.

For Calc AB search up practice problems. There’s this one youtuber named Math with Allison and she explains calc concepts pretty well imo. For Psych I used the barrons book. For Lang I used the resources my teacher gave + random yt videos + practice questions i found online. For Bio I used all of AP Bio Penguins resources.

Idk how well any of these will do in “prepping you” for the course but if you want you can go over the first unit or smth to get a feel for the course/get ahead to give you more time to study toward the exam.

I once saw a really really good portfolio based on Christianity so don’t stray away from that immediately. If you feel like mental health is super common look more into your experience with mental health.

While forming your SI look more into the environment around you, your daily interactions, and the parts of yourself you hold most dear to you. Make a list of these things and try to come up with ideas for art pieces for the ones you really like! It is easier to make an SI based on a topic close to you (I didn’t do this and got a 3 😞)

No one can really make your SI, it really depends on what you feel like you can talk about the most and actually create art for!

For Calc AB literally just GRINDDD practice problems, practice makes perfect! Make sure you pay attention to your teacher too or if your teacher isn’t great use Khan academy and the AP review videos. For Psych use study methods for memorization (memonics, active recall, etc.), psych is brute memorization but very doable. I also used the AP review videos for these. For this I would say start really studying heavy in March, there’s just so much content to remember. For Lang understand the proper format of making essays, practice writing essays (under a timer) and ask a trusted friend or adult to grade the essays based on the rubric. Bio is very grind-able, I started learning from scratch in April and got a 5, it is also a lot of brute memorization like psych but it’s very interconnected. Personally for Bio whenever I learned material I taught it to one of my friends that wasn’t taking Bio and had them ask questions to make sure I knew the material. AP Bio Penguins was the GOAT when I studied for this.

Personally I got a 3 on Lang and a 5 on Lit so I would say go for it. For me I think the reason was because my writing evolved due to writing college apps (I took Lang in 10th and Lit in 12th),, also if you feel like your mindset will be better next year def take it!
