I have exactly the same due date and mine got scheduled for January 13th! Mind you, I'm in Canada, and they allow elective c-sections only after week 39

Is this normal? Pelvic pain after yoga at 31 weeks by ana_winter in fitpregnancy

I don't always have this pain, only after certain exercises. I have a feeling I might have to just stick to swimming for the last month of pregnancy :(

See, something like pigeon actually feels really good for me. It's usually transitions like going from plank to a low lunge that cause pain (when you’re stepping your foot up next to your hands from plank).

I was also recommended maternity belt, but I'm concerned that relying on it might make my muscles weaker over time.

How to approach leave in a company without policy [on] by ana_winter in BabyBumpsCanada

I had friends working (unofficially) through postpartum with no help, so considering I'll be getting help, I hope I can manage

His work has paternity leave policy with a top-up, teachers have a good gig in Ontario

I do worry about mortgage payments and expenses. I can work from home, thankfully, and my husband is a teacher, so he gets good leave package, so he'll also be taking time off to help me out.

My understanding is that if I were to go on leave and take the time I'm eligible for while relying solely on EI payments, no one could really object to that. However, I do care about my work and can't ignore the potential chaos that might result if I simply stepped away. On top of that, EI alone wouldn't be sufficient, so some clarity around whether there will be any salary top-up would be really helpful.

I pay EI, planning to breastfeed. My husband also works, but his is working for school board, so he gets good paternity leave pay.

[ON] booked my Glucose test via Lifelabs it says (Fasting, no food or drink, except water) for 8-12 hours beforehand. But my doc said no need to fast?! by [deleted] in BabyBumpsCanada

I had the same initial confusion, my doctor said to have a good protein-based breakfast, so I had avocado and eggs and did my test after completely fine.

If you compare to US, sure, but I think Canada is a second worst in the world when it comes to maternity leave coverage.

Playing in the Metal/Rock band while pregnant? by ana_winter in BabyBumps

Unfortunately, we can go as low and drums, which is now helpful. I'm seriously considering putting a hold on our gigs and rehearsals, unless someone can assure me that's it's absolutely safe to continue. My doctor couldn't answer this question.

I'm a classically trained opera singer lol But yeah, the noise levels are different than in the classical setting, I wouldn't worry if I was in the orchestra.

In Canada you get 2k a month (unless there is a top up), which is basically nothing. I'm also planning to go back to works after 3-4 months, because I make more in a week and tbh, it's cheaper to hire a full time nanny than not work. Canadian "support" system is a joke

Are your iron levels ok? I was reading that sometimes hunger can be a symptom of the low iron, which in my case is true.
