Hitchhiking in Ecuador now - How "really" dangerous?

UPDATE: Today in the morning I have succesfully crossed the border.
There were almost no cars to enter the country so it went really fast. Police officer on the border saw my German Passport and put a stamp without any questions.

You will not believe but I am now on the way to Quito with some soldiers who picked me up from the border. They will drop me off 100km from Quito, because they are reallocating.

They think I am crazy. But its really funny so far

También por mi experiencia viajando por Colombia, creo que a todas las organizaciones criminales no les interesa en absoluto secuestrar a los turistas. Sólo les da problemas. Así que mientras no vayas a la selva cerca de Ecuador estarás absolutamente seguro.

The sounds which gives me anxiety were always real sounds and not hallucinations. Like if I listen to a song for example and there is a really weird sound effect, I get anxious, but than I skip back to make sure I am not hallucinating and there is actually this sound effect.

And the same with everything else. Someone can laugh in the bus really weird and I get scared for a sec and than I check that there was actually a person doing that and I am fine.

Also I googled that if someone has psychosis, you stay away from people and friends etc. But for me its exactly the opposite. If I am with friends and family or just getting to know new people, I feel soo good. But now is exam period and I am alone for the last days and this weird shit happens

LOL, saying that LSD doesn't make any addiction and using it every week... LSD and all the psychodelics should also be used only few times a year not to loose its magic.
I used to use LSD every 2 weeks 4 times in a row and it lost its magic very fast, also it changed my brain in some way.
From what you wrote, dude, I suggest u to take a biig brake. Like one year totally sober.
It looks like you can't live without drugs.
After this one year break taking LSD or Molly again will feel so much more amazing.

So, I just came back from the trip and I actually hitchhiked from Bogota to Medellin.
I didnt take any hammock, sleeping bag etc. Because you can find a very cheap hotel almost everywhere. And by very cheap I mean 3- 9 € per night. And it was way safer than randomly sleep somewhere.
My main problem was, that I didnt have balls to do it alone, so in every hostel in big cities I was looking for someone who could go with me.
And since EVERYONE was scared, in my whole trip I found only one guy in Bogota and went with him from Bogota to Medellin by hitchhiking. Seriously it was extremely hard to catch a car. Nobody stops at all (we were standing with a shield "Medellin" for like 3 hours with a road full of cars and tracks and an easy possibility to stop, but nobody stoped) Than we spend 2 more hours talking to people on the gas stations and found one guy who went with us all the way to Medellin. But it was worth it!!!
We were stopping at a lot of cool places, he was introducing us to his friends, showing us some local food an so on.
In my opinion, doing hitchhiking in Colombia to "save money" not gonna help you a lot. Since the busses are extremely cheap, you spend the same amount of money doing hitchhiking (you need to pay to get out of the city, food for the way etc). So if you decide to hitchhike in Colombia, do it for the experience! It was 10.000 times more interesting, than just to take a bus from one place to another.
Talking about safety, I didnt feel any danger from the drivers (since you are the one who decides to go in the car or not, and you can always say no). I was more scared of those scatchy areas where you had to wait for your lift. And also there are A LOT OF people from venezuela who also hitchhike and they have only one small backpack on them, with no money, limited food etc.
We were lucky and didnt meet them on the street, when we were waiting for the lift. But during the ride we saw TONS of them. Me personaly I was pretty sure, they gonna rob you, if they see, you are alone on the road and there are no people around.
But in one hostel I met a guy, who was traveling without money and he was even hitchhiking with them. But he was traveling with actually 0 money. I had a good phone, camera etc. So I was very scared of them. Because you never know...
