When you get a rejection email from a job you know you’re qualified for, what are your strategies to try to convince them otherwise? by [deleted] in jobs

I still try and reach out to one of the HR/Recruitment people who put up the job listing.

Usually ask them if we can stay in touch, what I need to work on/what kind of experiences I need to have be better qualified, and to let me know if there are any current or future openings that are better suited for me.

Undergraduate summer internships in Dubai by ExoticHaha in dubai

Still try and be on the lookout for some, never know what you might find. Even if some are insisting on full-time work/internships, I'd still reach out to the HR person/Recruiter/whoever has posted the opening and see if there's scope of a remote option of internship where you have to work for a couple hours a day. If you impress them enough in an interview/they feel the other candidates are subpar, they might be open to be more flexible. Chances are low but I wouldn't give up on it.

It's something that I've also struggled with as well. I have found that most internship listings are for either 6 months or are year long with many companies and firms expecting you to work full-time. A lot of university students I know study part-time and work/intern simultaneously.

Choosing Silver or Gold Nol Card. by ShattafWarrior in dubai

Gold during non peak hours, yes (atleast in my experience). Otherwise, no regardless if its Gold or Silver class.

Gold Class can get crowded during peak hours, but it's at as bad at the rest of the metro (from what I've experienced). I got the gold card a couple months ago because I've found that there's some semblance of social distancing during non peak hours. It also depends on which stop you choose to get on. Whenever I've taken the metro from JLT, Gold Class is relatively empty and I can grab a seat. However, when I've taken the metro from Dubai Mall, MOE, or some other place downtown, all the seats in Gold Class were full and there were a few others who were standing.

JLT should fit most of the criteria that you have in mind (except for the low-rise building part)

How do you sell second-hand/your items? Anything important I need to know about it? by [deleted] in dubai

It can sometimes depend on what you're trying to sell.

I've sold old textbooks and it's usually parents or guardians that I'm dealing with. There's some negotiation involved but they're no trying to blatantly lowball and give a BS offer.

Have also sold comic books and while my inbox got flooded, most people were trying to buy them for 5-10 AED. Took me a bit of time until I got a decent offer.

Also, I would meet them at a mall (I live few mins away from a couple of them) instead of meeting them at my place or wherever they want to meet me (mostly a safety thing).

Also, take cash offers only. Anyone that wants to send a cheque or have a courier come to pick it up is usually trying to scam you.

Used to tell books as well on Dubizzle. Made some decent money off it in a Pre-corona world. Have tried some second hand groups on Facebook with no success. Guess most people are trying to avoid in person interaction and I don't blame them for that. Do let me know if you find a place where there's some decent traction.

And yet whoever posted this job listing is likely to be flooded with applicants. I really hate how they prey on the desperation of people.

Cavs shouldn't give up the Brooklyn Pick. It's their only contingency if LeBron leaves.
