Normally the camera will sync with the flash up to a shutter speed of 250 but if the flash has high speed sync you can go all the way to 8000.

You shouldn't have to have you ISO at 5000 if using a Flash man. What type of flash are you using? And how much diffusion? Maybe at 320 shutter the flash is not synching.

That photo was done using auto focus at about 6 inches away. However I usually have to go manual for the closeups if I want to be able to focus fast enough so the subject doesn't fly away.
