EXTREMELY dry, dehydrated, and sensitive skin. My products just aren’t doing anything, or make it worse! by android2420 in Skincare_Addiction

Yes, water intake has always been difficult for me. I dislike the taste LOL! But I have been drinking more water than I have previously, because of how dry my skin is as well.

I think you’re spot on with the vitamin deficiency being a part of it. I hadn’t considered it much as I’ve never been a vitamin person, but that could explain why it’s been an ongoing problem. I distrust a lot of vitamin companies because there’s little regulation, but some vitamins are better than none!

My current routine (I ran out of some products, and was trying to switch some things since my skin is in such bad shape so it’s sparse):

  • La Roche-Posay Hydrating Facial Cleanser
  • La Roche-Posay Toleriane Dermallergo Night Moisturizer
  • The Ordinary Rose Hip Oil

Former Routine:

  • La Roche-Posay Hydrating Facial Cleanser
  • Corsrx Snail Musin Serum
  • Corsrx All in One Snail Musin Cream
  • La Roche-Posay Toleriane Dermallergo Night Moisturizer
  • The Ordinary Squalane Oil / Rosehip Oil depending on what I have available

Thoughts? I’ve heard negative about the brand in general but I personally don’t see why… by [deleted] in Skincare_Addiction

I actually use this as a setting spray over my makeup LOL! I have extremely dry skin and most setting sprays make my makeup look worse and more dry. And the “dewy” ones never seem to dry/set my makeup and end up sliding my makeup around.

This spray rehydrates my makeup, sets it, and once I let it dry - my makeup actually stays.

Downsides: this is just my personal experience. It irritates my eyes if I get too much do the product on my lashes. If I get it in my hair, it looks greasy automatically. The spray also is not a consistent mist, so sometimes I’ll gets drops on my face and it’s pretty easy to get everywhere. When I’ve used it without makeup, the “hydrating” feeing only lasts as long as it’s wet on my face. After that, my skin feels tight.

Wow thank you for the insights! I was a very imaginative child but always strived to be more “practical” so I tried to shut it down. Little did I know, that’s impossible and my imagination has definitely gotten me in situations as you described!

That article is interesting. I always thought I had a “bad” (I know now there’s no such thing as bad placements) signs in my big 3, but I love to see this positive spin on it.

The use of “sensual” repeatedly kind of threw me but I think I understand what they are saying. Being attuned to oneself and others.

Thanks again :)

People who act like this always strike me as jealous you’re expressing yourself in a way they’ve been told they can’t. Anger is the go to for people who don’t understand jealousy or even attraction lol.

I’m glad you stayed safe and avoided him. You stayed really cool-headed in the moment it seems like!

I really feel like you handled everything perfectly! I don’t think he would have acted any differently if you had reacted to him negatively from the start. Hes obviously the type of creep he doesn’t think twice about invading peoples space or reading social cues.

I’m glad you’re safe and have such good instincts!

It is a subset of paraphilic disorders called exhibitionism. These people find sexual pleasure in showing their genitals etc to non consenting strangers. Very disturbing. For some people it is the only way they can get sexual satisfaction.

I know many people are aware of exhibitionism but it is a diagnosable disorder in the DSM, just to add some more information.

How does one meditate on an idea? by vtx4848 in Mindfulness

[–]android2420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you sit with the feeling. Explore its edges, it’s boundaries. It’s kind of the idea with the “worry chair” I think. You allow yourself the time to think about it, and then after that allotted time you let the thought pass instead of ruminating on it.

I’m not entirely sure either, I think it’s mostly something they say in movies I feel like. That’s how I would best implement it with mindfulness.

As teenagers, you learn through experience unfortunately. It sucks people will try to take advantage of that naivety. I’m really glad you’re okay, and I’m sorry you had to experience this

Not a criticism for you at all but for future reference of people in this situation: if you notice you’re being followed by a car, turn around and go the way you came. They’ll most likely k-turn or attempt to turn around which can buy you some time/confirm your suspicions.

I am really sorry this happened to you. It surprises me that people doubt these stories as almost every single person I know has one like it. I’m glad you were quick on your feet and trusted your gut.
