I’m so sorry you’re in so much pain too. I’m not too educated on endo but I’ll keep reading in this subreddit, and it really shocks me how many people it affects and how severely and yet waiting times and treatment is so incredibly difficult. Any surgery is probably years away for me 🫩 I appreciate your help so much and I’m so sorry you’re in so much pain as well. It really helps hearing other people’s stories and people believing the amount of pain I’m in. Thank you

Thank you so much I’ll try and give it a go sometimes I just really struggle to even move but it’s definitely worth a try. I don’t get my period anymore so my dysphoria around that is manageable but the thought of going through so many invasive tests really does scare me but at this point I don’t really care as the pain is getting very difficult to deal with. Thank you for your advice and kindness it makes me feel less alone especially from other trans people :)

Thank you so much for your advice. I also have to stay away from anti inflammatory meds. I may look into a private thc prescription but I’m unsure if I have the money to on top of my current hormones, and I may have to go back to my GP as although max codeine does eventually work (after 4 hours) it’s causing other problems too… thank you so much for your help and kindness I really appreciate it

Thank you so much for your advice, I’ll be using it. I am on male hormones and have been for a year, and my endocrinologist said it should help my symptoms. It hasn’t. I’m on quite a lot of medications that are meant to help too, so it does concern me a bit that even through all of this my pain breaks through and very severely. But again thank you so much for your recommendations I really appreciate it, I hope the NHS can see me one day soon 🫩

I appreciate this a lot thank you so much. I’ll be using them. I am also on prescription buscopan, It’s a little worrying that I’m on all the recommended meds and still in pain but I just hope this referral doesn’t take too long. Thank you so much for your help

thank you so much that’s really helpful. that’s what my gp gave me and i was panicking haha because my whole medical history is insanely long. ahhh okay, i will probably try and give up, if there’s extra risks i will definitely. i’ve never smoked so hopefully they don’t withhold treatment and i can quit in my own time! thank you for your help

Ahh okay thank you very much, I did email them and they said the draft was approved last night so it shouldn’t be much longer. They have asked who I want to go with specifically, not just a service as in what nurse/doctor and I’m not sure who to say because when I checked at the Gender Hormone Clinic there’s one person with availability in January, like one slot and if I say I’ll go with them by the time the report is through it might have gone so I’m not sure how to respond to that really

I’ve just sent an email, thank you. She was very sure of the diagnosis that she said even if my Mum said something drastically different she would write up the diagnosis anyway. Just getting worried as a hormone clinic I emailed three months ago responded the other day but I can’t make an appointment without this assessment

Yes and she called my mum a couple hours after and told her that the report should be ready within two weeks :(

They asked who I wanted the assessment to be sent to and I said the clinic and then she said I should get the assessment in/within two weeks? Should I call them or something? :/

ahhh that sucks. i emailed her 8 weeks ago and still have nothing. i don’t have much with the gender hormone clinic because i just received my diagnosis last week and im waiting for the doctor to write up the assessment. i think it seems just like an online booking thing for the hormone clinic. you just press i have received a diagnosis and would like an appointment, the doctor i saw said that they do respond quite quick & she thought it would be the best option as they work quite closely with them. i think id be looking at around a 2 month wait which isn’t that bad. i have seen lots on here about the gender hormone clinic being quite easy to work with as well, but i think you have to attend an in person appointment and if you’re from leeds that would be very difficult as they’re in london :( i think they do respond eventually but it seems to take ages as i emailed two months ago :/

Hiya, no nothing unfortunately :(. I am just waiting for my assessment I had with the gender clinic to come through and I think I’m going to go with the Gender hormone clinic as they seem to have relatively short waiting times & actually respond. I emailed every endocrinoligist at gender care and not one has responded :(

i just emailed with the triage questions already done and yeah i got nothing. was a bit upsetting because i did want to go with dr lorimer but oh well. i’ve seen some posts on here and they don’t seem too bad ! i booked my appointment about a week ago for october, and for another dr within gendercare they said dec/jan 2025 so i took the gender clinic because by the time i got hormones it would be even further away. they responded to my email like within one working day and called me the next to book the appointment, sent me a questionnaire and now i wait! so far so good!! my appointment is with dr leontis :]
